"Josh! What the fuck was that for?"

"Just listen to me. Vincent told me what he said to you and he regrets it terribly."

"That's great then. What does this have to do with me?"

"Accept his apology and move on with life Nova."

"You're telling me to move on when he told me that he loves someone else more than me? If he loves her, then why is he looking me in my face telling me that he loves me? That seems a bit sketchy, don't you think?" Josh looked at me and rolled his eyes.

"Don't roll your eyes at me because I will slap the look off your face. Believe me."

"Vincent didn't mean it, he's hurt that you spent the whole night talking to Ice and not comforting him. He just doesn't know how to deal with true love and receiving it from someone he deeply cares about."

"I don't care Josh, ever since I moved in here, he's been taking advantage of me. I am not down with that at all. You both need to understand that, realize what I am saying. I am not some girl back in Colorado, I was raised right and don't have time for attacks on me. I don't have time to get hurt anymore. I am sick of it. If Ice can come up in here and treat me like a normal teenager and become my best friend in a day, then he should be able to realize that I am not some wack ass bitch like Vanessa. Are we clear?"

"Yes, but-"

"Oh, and you both need to understand that I am not playing messenger. Can you both understand that for me?" He nodded slowly and went inside Vincent's room. I felt bad for speaking to either of them in that manner, but getting hurt by someone who "supposedly" loves you repeatedly isn't worth the fight nor the battle. I will simply take care of my baby girl Lia and see if this Vanessa bitch want to come see me and show me what she thinks she can do. Cause at the end of the day. She got the wrong girl to mess with.

I was tired of Vincent, he needs to get it together because I am not playing these little games that Vanessa played with him. I am not a regular girl who came into his life to hurt him. And not once have I did that. He had the nerve to look me dead in my face and tell me that he loves a bitch who cut him literally, over me who has done nothing but try to teach him how to not be superman all the time. If he loves her more than me, why am I here?

I didn't understand what was his problem ever since I moved in here, he thinks that just because that girl not even worthy of being called a lady or woman hurt him; he needs to be stricter with his girlfriend so they don't do the same thing to him that she did. Well, he needs to understand that he can't do that if we break up then he can do that with the next chick, but he can't continue to make mistakes. Believe me when I say that he is only human, I do understand that. But he can't continue to make mistakes day after day after day. It's tiring and annoying to try and fix all the time.

Does he not understand that Amelia is looking at her father and she is at an age where she starts to remember things. What is she going to remember that her dad was a rude drinker? No, I am not going to have my baby girl thinking that about anyone. I am not going to have him act like this towards her. I am not going to let him keep acting up in front of her. He could do that with Vanessa, but not me. And I promise to make sure of that.

"I'm going to be outside for a second, do you want to come Princess?" I asked her. She ran towards me, leaving Ice behind and I picked her up while swinging her around. Her joyful screams gave me a bright smile on my face.

"Nova, can I talk to you?" Vincent's voice rang in my ear.

"About what?" He tried to stop me halfway up the stairs, but I made it through him.

"About what happened this morning."

"Nothing to talk about. It's over, isn't it?"

"No, it isn't. Nova, we need to talk about it sometime. You can't avoid me." I didn't reply as I heard footsteps racing down the stairs, trying to keep up with me. He stood in front of the door and looked at Amelia.

"Ice! Take care of baby girl for me?" He yelled out as Ice took Amelia out of my arms with remorseful eyes, but glared at Vincent heavily. He opened the door and let me out first.

"What?"

"We need to talk, I didn't mean what I said earlier I was just angry and jealous because you spoke to Ice instead of me."

"You want me to talk to a drunk? While my daughter is up there panicking? Does that make sense to you? Should I be the one taking care of two children?" I said as he widen his eyes in shock.

"Well, why would you want to talk to Ice over me? I am hurt, I have emotions racing through me right now and I have no way to take them out."

"So, you have decided to take it out on me? Because what? I am your loving girlfriend that actually gives a shit about you? Right? I am supposed to wait on you hand and foot, until you feel otherwise? Look, I am not going to argue with you. Stay out of my way and I will stay out of yours. We both have different plans, clearly. By the way, I love Josh like a brother; but don't send him as your messenger because you're too much of a pussy to actually face the music and say something to me." He remained silent and looked at his feet as I gave him a small chuckle.

"You don't have anything to say do you?" I asked as he remained silent, I gave another chuckle and I stepped to the side and went to go get Amelia. I stepped inside the house and heard screams from a child, I zoomed up the stairs. I saw Amelia crying at the small table in her room.

"Baby girl, what's the matter?" I asked as I bent to eye level with her.

"Uncle Ice ate my chicken nugget!" She cried out loud.

"Can you and Josh stop eating the child's food? Nonsense goat."

"Nonsense goat?" Ice started laughing harder than ever. I realized that my mom always used to say that when my brother did or said something stupid.

"African accent, my mom used to say it to my little brother all the time." I said as I pause to think about my mom and all the good times we had. Ice probably saw the look on my face because I felt his arm hold me.

"Best friend, don't get sad on me. She probably misses you the same way you do her. I never did ask why you are here." He asked softly.

"Mel and my parents found out about Vincent and Josh in the worse way too, leading up to them kicking us out. They believe that since we are good students, boys shouldn't be in our heads until college. But then pressure us on how we should be thinking about dates for prom and all this other stuff. They are hypocrites and I hate the fact that they couldn't let us be like every other teenage girls. But, I do miss my parents a lot. Mel doesn't really have a problem, her and her mom don't really connect like mine and I do. You know he didn't even ask? He just was excited to have someone there, probably take care of Amelia so he could do Lord knows what. I just don't understand Tristan." I said as I looked up at the ceiling, laying on the bed.

"Are you kidding me Nova? I don't understand what is up with him, but maybe you should teach him a lesson."

"A lesson?" I said with a raised eyebrow.
