I quietly watch as she sticks a 'No mourners, No funerals' poster up on top of my door. Her shirt has ridden up, and I can see the soft lines of her stomach. I smile to myself.

Yes, I had Diesel drag me here because I didn't feel like working from home anymore. And yes, my arms feel like they're falling apart.

"Now, I just need to stick one over here..." She sticks a painting, her painting beside my bookshelves and steps back to admire her work.

"I should be an architect" I raise a brow. "What does being an architect have to do with any of this?"

She turns around, hands resting on her hips.
"A home decorator? Home designer? What's it called?" I chuckle to myself as she pulls her phone out.

"An interior decorator! I was close, see?" She shoves her phone towards my face. I nod without even looking at it.
"Now, where to stick this one..." She looks around the office until her eyes land on the wall just above my head.

I shake my head as I sense mischief growing in her mind.
"No" she pouts, paddling across the room towards me, and taking a seat on my lap. She straddles me, putting her legs on both sides of the chair. I ignore the growing hardness between my legs.

She runs a hand down the side of my face, and I find myself leaning into the contact. Gently pushing her face near mine, she touches our noses, whispering a little 'boop'

I lean over, almost touching her nose again. This time, my focus isn't on her nose.

It's on those plump red lips.

Fuck, I wanna kiss her.

"Pretty please?" Her eyes hold that fucking glow that makes it impossible to say no. I laugh.
"Stop giving me that look" I rest my face on her shoulder.

"What look?" She blinks rapidly. I settle her down and hand her the poster. "Do whatever you want"

"Okay! I wanna stick one near the window, and the 1D one should go near the shelves!" She squeals to herself and starts working on sticking them.

The door opens and Felix walks in, keys in his hand. When he looks around the office, I can just make out the stupid smile on his face. He raises his brows at me.
"God, she's got you wrapped around her finger"

He walks over to the table and sets the keys down.
"Mal?" He takes a seat opposite me and shrugs "Well, I tried. We all did. He just won't open his mouth" then, he sighs.
"Zane, this is all for nothing. He's dead. He's been dead for a long time. He's probably insect food right now. We should just let it go" he looks at Astraea, who's on the floor, putting glue on the back of a poster.

I wake up in the middle of the night to my phone ringing on the bedside table. I pick it up and hear a voice that sends shivers down my back.

"Zane" my thoughts jumble in my head. I have a hard time keeping still.
"Who is this?"
He chuckles darkly before responding with a name I dread.
