Bridget Elizabeth Allison.

Daughter of one of my most trusted agents. Hard-headed, confident and outstanding at what she does. With the looks of a runway model.

And now, my PA.

I didn't have much of a choice. Blaze is one of my most trusted men, and when he made a simple request, there was no way I could refuse. Not after everything he's done for the agency.

I would rather prefer having Bianca or Roxy any day. That's not to say that she isn't good, she is. She's great at her work, however, a little too overconfident. Calling me out when I say something she doesn't agree with, shoving her opinions down my throat and making me regret saying yes to this. I do admire that about her, though. She isn't afraid to call me out when she thinks I'm wrong, and not many people can do that.

"We should just let hand them over. You've tortured them enough, boss" I lift my head from the laptop in front of me. She is beautiful, don't get me wrong. Her Auburn hair comes down to her waist, and her figure is a perfect hourglass. That being said, I still don't take opinions very well.

"I plan on killing them soon" She sighs at the words and flips through the file in her hand. Rain patters on the window behind me, thunder rumbling once in a while. "Boss, killing isn't always the solution" I clench my jaw and look back towards the laptop.

"I didn't ask"

Suddenly, the door bursts open and Astraea stands in the doorway, her hair neatly tied back and she has one of my sweatshirts on. She runs into the room and throws something on my desk. A letter. Her breathing is heavy, with a strand of hair on her left eye that she doesn't bother to brush away.

I motion towards the seat opposite mine. She sits down, pushing the letter towards me.
"Read it!"
"Why?"
"Just read it!"

I pick the letter up and open it, straightening it in front of my face. She chews on her nails as I set it down on the table.

"It was outside my apartment door" She points to the letter.

She doesn't seem to notice that there's another person in the room.

Dear Astraea,

I hope my son isn't giving you a hard time, knowing that's all he ever does. So, how is everything going? I heard you two got together. How cute. However, consider this piece of advice; stay away. He isn't an angel. He will ruin you sooner or later.

As for you, Zane, maybe it's time to stop getting innocent people involved in your dangerous life. We both know that it's not safe. For either of you. So, if you're reading this, just know this; there's no saving her now. She's going to suffer, and it's going to be your fault.

With love,
Elias.

I don't notice that my hands are shaking until Astraea walks over to me and cups my face with both hands.
I'm pulled to her chest in a swift second and her hands start massaging my hair. She takes the letter from my hands, setting it down on the table.
