Chapter 16: Beach

*Daniel's POV*

I woke up with Kayla cuddled into my chest. "Kayla." I shook her awake. "what." she said. "Can we go eat now?" I asked. She got up and went upstairs. "Hey guys" I said. I sat at the table across from Kayla. "Kids we are going to the beach today." Esther said.

We all got up and got ready. "Daniel I need help." Kayla said. "With what." I said as I walked into the bathroom. "can you tie this for me?" She said holding two strings behind her back. I tied them and she turned around. "Thank you." she said sliding on her shirt. She brushed her teeth.

After that she walked into the room. She got a string bag and put a towel and her phone and sunglasses in it. "Kayla come here for a minute." I said pulling out my phone. "What." she said coming in. "Come here and take a picture with me." I said opening snapchat.

We took a picture than she walked away. "KIDS LETS GO." My mom yelled. We walked out the door and started walking. "Babe come here." I groaned and Kayla stopped. "What." She said. I wrapped my arm around her waist and we walked.

Once we got there we placed our stuff down. Kayla took off her shorts and shirt and was left in a red bikini. I couldn't help but stare until that freaking Cody kid came up to her but she just backed away.

"Daniel he's scaring me now." she said as she hugged me. "You and me both babe." I said as I looked at him. "Mrs. Espinosa can you take a picture of me and Kayla please?" I asked and she agreed. She took a picture and handed me my phone.

"Let's go in the water Danielllll." Jojo said dragging me. "Kayla come on." I said. "I can't." she said then I remembered her ankle. "right." I said leaving. When I got in the water I saw Cody giving me the death glare then running out in the direction of Kayla.

"Matt Cody wants to take Kayla away from me." I said to him and he ran out. I followed him and Jojo came out. "Cody I don't wanna go." "Come on girl come in the water." Matt came up to him and pushed him. "Stay away from her." He said through his teeth.

"Babe come here." I said hugging her. "I don't like him." she said in my chest. "Neither do we." I said. "Well that's enough for right now we will come back at dark." My mom said. We packed everything up and I posted the picture of me and Kayla with the caption "beach day with my girl❤️🌊😌"

We arrived home and I took a shower and Kayla shut the door to our room. Once I was done I saw her in shorts and a volleyball teeshirt. "Volleyball fan?" I asked. "I played volleyball until I became homeschooled." she said looking at me. "Have you talked to Madison?" She asked.

"Nope." I said popping the 'p'. "KAYLAAAAAA!" Becca yelled coming in the room. "Hey cutie." she said. "Can you do my hair?" She asked sitting on the bed. "Sure." Kayla said getting up. I sat there and watched as Kayla braided Becca's hair. "All done." she said. "Thank you!" And with that Becca left and ran upstairs.

We walked upstairs and sat with the others. "we are going to the beach after or before dinner?" Kayla's dad asked. "What about before so we can come home and eat." My mom said.

We left for the beach at 5 and brought nothing but our phones and Burnie. The sun was setting and it was purty. Kayla was on my back laughing because she almost fell. "And here we have the lovebirds." Matt said making a vine. We waved and Kayla fell. We laughed and I helped her up.

I grabbed her hand and we walked around the beach until we all got hungry. We walked back and threw on our pajamas and just ate left over pizza in our rooms. "Baaaabbbyy can we watch a movie?" I groaned. "sure." she said eating a slice.

We decided to watch Neighbors because why not. half way through we almost peed ourselves. One part we laughed so hard Daniel fell out of the bed. "Daniel are you okay." I said in between laughs. After the movie ended we both fell asleep.
