Chapter 51: Work

*Kayla's POV*

We got home at night so I fell asleep after I unpacked. I got up threw on a white shirt with blue shorts and my apron. Matt drove me and my friend Jacob to work. We walked inside and I got cash register. I punched in my number and helped Jacob put new stuff out. "So Kayla you and Daniel?" He asked. "Yea." I said. "Nick set you up with this job too?" I asked. "Yea I heard you were doing it so I joined you!" He said. "Alright get to work guys customers are coming!" Alex said.

I stood behind the register next to Nicks cousin who has had the biggest crush on me since we met. And his name is Kian. And I have to admit he's pretty good looking. We were talking when a customer came. "Hello how are you? Did anyone help you today?" I asked scanning the lady's stuff. "Yes the boy Jacob did." She said. "Did you fine everything okay?" I asked bagging. "Yes thank you." "That would be $34.02" I said. She handed me the money and I gave her the recite and we got a ton more customers.

This guy and his kids were next with a huge bag of stuff. "Oh god!" The boy said. Bryan. I scanned everything and put it in the bag. "Bryan do you want anymore stuff?" The man said. "We actually have guy stuff and it smells really good. My boyfriend uses it." I said. "Really?" "Yea and your total is $113.45 did anyone help you today?" I asked handing him his recite. "That kid." He said pointing to Kian. "Have a nice day Bryan." I said. "Kayla I miss you." He said. "Either you buy something else and talk to me or leave." I said and he walked to the front.

I saw Esther walk in with the boys behind her. I was standing waiting to help someone when Jacob came behind me and picked me up. "JACOB STOP!" I yelled laughing. "Why we are getting more customers this way." He laughed. "Well I am going to help people so let me go." I said. He dropped me and Esther walked up to me. "Do you need any help?" I asked. "Yes I need to find stuff for them." She said pointing to the boys. "Follow me." I said leading them to the back. "Right here call me if you need anything else." I smiled.

"Smalls come here." Kian whined. "What?" I said walking towards him. "This lady wants to know where the Moonlight Path is." He said. "Upfront." I said. "Kayla we are done." Esther said. "I will ring you up." I said going to the register. She handed me her bag and I scanned her stuff. "I didn't know you work here." She said. "I do now." I said putting her stuff in a bag. Kian walked behind me and picked me up. "Kian!" I said shocked. "What?" He asked. "Put me down." I said. "Oh and ring up Bryan so I don't have to do it please." I said. "Anything for Smalls." He said walking next to me.

I finished bagging and added up the total. "Ok that will be $122.55 and here's your recite." I said. She handed me the money and I handed her hers back. "Have a nice day." I said. "Kayla you left your glasses at my place." Daniel said handing me my glasses. "Thanks." I said. I got off for my break and me, Jacob and Kian went for food. I grabbed my backpack and put on my glasses then we walked around the mall. "Chipotle!" We said. We ordered and sat down. I looked at my phone and saw Justin was calling me.

Me: hey Justin
Justin🎶😇: Hey I see you in the mall and we have rehearsal today
Me: Daniel didn't tell me
Justin: so you want me to drive you home?
Me: me and Jacob?
Justin: he can come too
Me: ok so I'm working in Bath and Body works so pick me up at 5
Justin: okay bye boo
Me: bye boi

"Guys we're late!" I said getting up. We ran through the mall and made it in time. I punched in my number and put my bag down. This is going to be a long day!
