When Daryl woke up he knew something was off and it didn't take long until he burst out of the cell. "Where is she?" He asked Glenn Daryl's voice starting to wake the people who slept in the cellblock. "Who?" Glenn asked confused, "Ryan Renolds. Who do you think?" Rick came from down the stairs. "What's going on?" He asked calmly. "She's not there," Daryl spoke a slight hint of the worry he had. Although it was nothing compared to how scared he was on the inside.
Rick looked between Daryl and the cell before motioning his head to the way outside. "Let's go," he said walking, and Daryl grabbed his crossbow following Rick. They didn't see her in the field but things had changed a small building for pigs and a bucket filled with water to help wake people up. They even had a small farm where they grew plants. "I'll check the field," Rick referred to the small area.
He walked through the rows of plants looking for her, he guessed she wasn't awake. And if she was she sure as hell wasn't here. Daryl knew she would tell him before she left. It was routine, so when she wasn't there and she hadn't told him she was leaving he feared something happened. Rick walked down another row when he saw her. "Found her!" Rick yelled, he wanted to tell Daryl and not wake her but there was no other way. She slowly started to wake up and by the time Daryl got to her she had woken up.
"God," he sighed rubbing his face. "What the hell happened?" Samantha asked standing up. "You must've slept walk or something, what do you remember?" He asked and she sighed closing her eyes. She knew what it was, the nightmare that forced her into the field. But she didn't want anyone except Daryl to know. "I don't remember," she shrugged. Rick knew she was lying he knew her well enough.
"I'm gonna go get to work," he said walking away. He needed to work on the plants but knew she would tell Daryl. He went to take down the dried clothes folding them.
"You gonna tell me?" Daryl asked and she turned around. "We brought him back I wasn't aware he chased me into the field, so on." She pursed her lips looking just past him. He looked at her not knowing what to say. "Is it gonna happen again?" He asked after a long moment of silence.
"Do you miss the feeling of dirt under your feet?" She looked at him. "It was such a nice feeling, I miss it." She looked down at the soil, she wore socks to bed, no it wasn't comfortable but just in case they had to leave. "My question?" He asked hoping for an answer. "I have no fucking clue, it doesn't really matter." She knew what she wanted to add, but saying it aloud seemed like a step she wasn't willing to take. 'You'll make it go away to' she couldn't force those words from her lips. She couldn't say them out loud afraid of what it would mean.
"I, um," there was something she had felt like saying for a long time. "What?" She looked at him and back at her feet. "I'll tell you tomorrow," she smiled and he shook his head. "There may not be tomorrow, just say it." She looked at him before stepping closer. "I trust you with my life, more than my life if I'm being honest. " She paused and before he could say anything "Don't let it go to the small brain of yours. It's like the size of a walnut I sw-" she was stopped by him pulling her in for a hug. He wasn't great with words, no he hated them.
