Noah couldn't live not knowing whether or not his family was alive. That was one question that had to be answered.

No one wanted to bury Beth. It just seemed so official, that once she was in the ground it would be true. That Beth Greene had lost her life.

No one wanting to talk about Beth they all headed to Noahs home. Half of them went to look for a burial for Beth and the other half went with Noah.

Samantha couldn't bother to see Maggie and Daryl. Because the only time either had seemed peaceful was in sleep, something they wouldn't get much of. It pained her to see Maggie in so much pain. And every time Samantha looked at Maggie she saw her sister.

It didn't take long before they all arrived at Noah's neighborhood. It was a gated community and the only way through besides the gates (which were broken) was going through the trees that surrounded the ungated part of the community. That was probably the reason why the community looked deserted.

Samantha walked away from the group, examining the area. Each house looked almost perfect, none of them were half-destroyed, none too invaded that they couldn't be cleared. And for the first time, Samantha found herself thinking of the future. Thinking of a place to settle.

A home; oh how she craved a home. Not fully realizing that the group was her home, her family.

She slowly walked into what seemed an abandoned house. The old brown floorboards creaked under her feet. And even after so many years the house still smelled faintly of chocolate cookies. A smile tugged at her lips and she wondered what this house looked like when it was filled with a family.

The smell grew stronger and she could hear the laughter of children fade in and out, but when her eyes fluttered open it was gone. The house was dark and there were cracks in some of the walls. But that faint smell of chocolate cookies still remained.

She continued hoping the smell would grow stronger and stronger as she moved about. But sadly it remained the same dull smell.

She traveled up the long staircase only to be met with a deteriorating human. The walker growled before launching at her. Samantha dodged the walker causing it to fall down the stairs. She cringed back when she saw its arm pop out of the socket, the arm landing a couple of feet away.

She continued, leaving the walker for later. The house had 3 bedrooms and 2 bath. It was laid out just like her old house, yet the decor was much different.

Many vintage family portraits had fallen, so much of the decor seemed priceless. She found it ironic, that an item that once warranted so much money could now be destroyed without a second doubt.

She walked into what seemed a young girls room. The walls covered with different boy bands, and a jewelry box had been left agar.

She approached the blue jewelry box and looked through the cheap silver and gold pieces. One gold chain held a gold bear charm.

It reminded her of the necklace hidden under her shirt. She grabbed the charm from under her shirt. The chain and charm and remained clean and looked as memorizing as the day Daryl put it on her.

Her skin covered in goosebumps and her hair stood up. She remembered his calloused fingers on her neck, the way her heart skipped a beat and her stomach fluttered. She closed her eyes reliving the sweet feeling.

She could hear a floorboard creak and a quiet growl behind her. She pulled her sword out turning around to slice the walker's throat. With her eyes still closed she heard the body fall to the ground with a thud.

She opened her eyes to see Rick. He had his hand on his machete ready to fight. He noticed the necklace that rested on her chest. "I," he didn't know exactly what to say.
