2 months had passed since the Duquettes arrives and they had stayed. Val wanted to do some studying on her blood to see the differences and similarities to her and Murphies blood.
Ray went on daily runs making sure he and his sisters existence remained unknown to the saviors. They only came in this area for Alexandria knowing they could use the help.
Samantha woke up to a pain in her abdomen. She woke up screaming, awaking Matthew. "Are you okay?" He asked and she shook her head.
Her stomach continued to hurt. She knew it wasn't her period, for multiple reasons. One it never so bad and two, she hadn't gotten her period for 2 months, something she was too afraid to Matthew.
"IT HURTS SO FUCKING BAD!" She yelled.
His brain scrambled like a scrambled egg. He lifted her up and carried her to the infirmary. He threw open the door and yelled for someone. It was late at night and he knew the only doctored they had lived here and Val usually crashed on the couch.
Val was soon in front of him. "Why are you yelling like a fucking maniac?" She asked annoyed. "I'm yelling cause she was yelling. I don't really know what is happening. She just woke up screaming and she stopped but she's still pain." His voice shook slightly.
"Lay her on the table," she lead him to the table. Once she laid down Val got closer to Sam. "What's going on?" She asked knowing Sam probably had the answer.
Sam looked at Val tears in her eyes. "I dont, I can't tell him." She cried. Matthew looked at her confused. "Get out," Val demanded. "No, I'm not leaving."
"Get the hell out Matthew," she said and he did. 2 times was enough for him to listen to.
"What's wrong?" Val asked noticing how the pain had dulled but the tears never stopped. "I, was, I was pregnant." She choked out.
Matthew sat on the steps of the building staring at his hands. Tears fell down his face. He didn't know what was wrong and why he couldn't know. He was scared she would confess something like 'I'm dying I have cancer,' or 'I have some weird disease that kills me'.
Daryl had gotten back from a run with Aaron and found Matthew on the steps. "What the fucks up with you?" He asked wondering if he actually cared enough to know. "Samantha," he said not looking up.
Daryl's face fell, "What?" He asked wondering what Matthew meant. But when he got no answer he rushed into the house rushing to the room where Samantha was crying. "Knock maybe," Val said standing in front of his view of Samantha.
"Is she okay?" He asked looking past her. "Not right now, but she will be." She lead him to the living room so they could talk about Samantha without being in front of her.
"I um," Daryl didn't know what to say as the worst things ran through his head. "She'll live if that's what your wondering. Who knew she was so popular. Anything of importance will be told by her to Matthew then to you." Val knew that was the harsh reality for Daryl.
Val was great at reading body language a skill her father had taught her and her brother. Daryl always found Samantha before anyone else in a crowd. When not together his shoulders were slumped and he kept to himself.
"I got her something, let me know when she's alright." He then left.
Val headed back to Samantha and found her looking at the wall. "We should change your clothes." Val knew there had to be blood. "I don't wanna move," she whispered. "I don't want to leave you in your own blood." Val said softly.
"I killed it," Samantha whispered looking at the paint on the wall. She looked at the scruff's or spots of blood. "No you didn't, your body just wasn't ready for the child." Val wiped her face gently. "You're okay, you may not feel it. But you are, and one day your body will be ready." Val wondered what Samantha felt.
