Samantha worked on the fence, she needed something to do. She couldn't feel relaxed; that was something she's felt close to 10 times in her life. Being relaxed made her feel uneasy like something bad could happen any minute. So she worked on the fence, the sound of walkers drowned out as she went into autopilot.
She drowned out the noise of Tyreese digging. She could only hear her heart beating as her sword went in and out of the holes.
Daryl entered her mind, he was her best friend all though she would never tell him that. Not yet at least. She zoned out as she killed the walkers. She thought of him, she had only seen his smile a couple of times and each time she loved it. It made her stomach feel weird, she couldn't identify the feeling since it was so foreign. She couldn't stop her thoughts as they slowly went to his stature. How his body was formed, each curve of his muscles, each indent in his face.
She jumped when she felt a hand on her shoulder. "Goddammit Daryl, don't fucking sneak up on me." She snapped turning towards him. "Council meeting," she nodded with a sigh. She put her sword away. "Let's go then," they both headed to the library where they always met. "You okay?" He asked looking at her as they walked. Her eyebrows furrowed together in confusion, "Yeah, why?" He just shrugged. "Aw you care about me, you're making me cold dead heart feel even more dead." He rolled his eyes ignoring her comment.
Once they arrived Daryl took a seat and she leaned against a bookshelf behind him. "It's spreading. Everyone who survived the attack in cell lock D is infected. Sasha, Caleb, and others." Samantha sighed. She knew things were slowly moving to Shitsville. "Jesus," Daryl whispered. Samantha examine their faces as everyone spoke. She didn't contribute, she didn't want to. She was there to give the unpopular opinion, the one that was rusted and needed polishing. She was there to give the harsh news.
"So what do we do?" Carol asked Samantha looked at Glenn. He seemed angry or conflicted, she couldn't tell which. "First thins first. Cellblock A is isolation. We keep the sick people there like we did with Karen and David." Samantha noticed a thin layer of sweat on Glenn. It was more than usual. "What the hell we gonna do about that?" Daryl asked looking between Hershel and Carol. They were the talkers they talked to most, they proposed answers to questions.
"Ask Rick to look into it. Try and make a timeline, who's where when." Carol proposed. Samantha moved so she sat next to Daryl. She sat on the floor not bothering to grab a chair. He looked down at her and she met his gaze. She held his gaze for what felt like hours but in reality, was only a few seconds. She looked down resting her head on the armrest. "But, what are we gonna do to stop this? We have no clue how it spreads and most importantly we can't find a source." Carol sighed heavily at the end of her sentence.
