Sylvie continued to stare at Theo, who had stayed motionless at the door after Loki and Mobius had left them alone.
She sighed, raising her eyebrows at him, "I don't think I've ever been in a room with you for this long without you chattering."
He blinked a few times at her, still refusing to speak to her. He was reliving the flashbacks in his head from when she had touched him.
It had to be magic...right?
"Was that...your magic?" His voice was small and Sylvie could hear the confusion in it.
"Was what my magic?" She asked, gently placing her feet back onto the floor and turning her body towards him.
"Your magic. T-t...that made me see those things in my mind?" He stammered.
She stood from her seat wanting to go to him to comfort him, but noticed how he tensed immediately when she moved towards him. She stopped, standing still she folded her arms over her chest. "I promise you Theo. It wasn't my magic. It was your memories...Of us."
He shook his head in disbelief, "No. I...I don't know you!" He yelled, throwing his arms up and grabbing his head. "It was some sort of magic trick. I know it! T..they warned me about your type. You are all dangerous and devious!"
Sylvie's temper flared as she heard those words fall from his mouth. "It's me Theo! Sylvie! Why dont you remember me?" She could feel the tears springing to her eyes, but she did not dare let them escape. "Why don't you remember us?" Her voice trailed off to a whisper.
This hurt more than she imagined it would. Matter of factly she wasn't sure she would ever have made it to this moment. She had spent so long running, planning, she hadn't thought about what would happen when she did find him again.
"An us?" His voice was bitter, "How could there be an us when you are nothing more than another Variant."
Those words cut deeper than any knife ever could. Sylvie stumbled back into her seat. A rouge tear slipping from her eye, "You do know me. In more ways than anyone else ever has...please Theo...please remember something."
There was a long eerie silence, as Theo continued to stare at Sylvie. Deep down he knew this uncontrollable racing in his heart, that he had never felt before had to mean something. He couldn't deny the memories he seen when they touched.
He wasn't afraid of her either. Seeing her upset, there...there was almost apart of him wanted to comfort her. That's when he realised subconsciously he had taken a few steps towards her.
A loud clatter as the doors burst open, pulled him from his trance.
B-15 stepped inside first, smiling at Sylvie. "Hello Variant."
Sylvie stayed silent as her eyes flickered quickly to gage Theo's reaction. But he had shut down, back into minuteman mode. His eyes however where locked onto her.
"Thank you for guarding the variant D-16," a females voice sounded before she stepped through the doors.
Sylvie's eyes widened in horror when she spied her.
"You!" She jumped up off her seat, staring at Ravonna who had stopped a few feet away from her.
An evil smile spread across Ravonna's painted red lips, "Hello Sylvie. It's been a while."
Sylvie couldn't believe this. Her words rang through her ears from all those years ago when she escaped. "You can run, but I will find you Sylvie. I promise you that.'
"I told you, I always get my way Sylvie." Ravonna sniggered, fixing the button on the sleeve of her blouse nonchalantly.
"You sick son of a bitch! You kept him? What as some kind of prize?" Sylvie spat, pointing at Theo.
Ravonna pulled a face, tipping her head to the side. "No." She looked over her shoulder at him briefly, before meeting Sylvie's gaze again. "I kept him for this very moment. To see the pitiful look on your face when the one person you have ever loved," she paused, "has absolutely no idea who you are."
Sylvie was at a loss for words, as the tears stung in her eyes again. She debated attacking Ravonna. She still had a dagger in her boot. But what was the point?
Theo didn't remember her.
So what was she meant to do now?
"Who messed you up so damn badly?" Sylvie sneered at Ravonna.
She let out a small laugh, "Take her away B-15. See to it she is pruned. Like Y/N. That will be two down. Just Loki to go."
B-15 grabbed Sylvie, pulling her from the room towards the cells.
Ravonna made sure to close the doors, turning to D-16, she gestured to the seats at the desk. He nodded obligingly making his way over to sit on the one that Sylvie had occupied.
She stared over at him, watching him intently for a moment before speaking.
"Do you know that Variant D-16?"
His brows furrowed together in confusion. Why was she asking him that? He didn't hesitate to answer her however, "I know her as the Variant we have been hunting. The one that has been killing our men M'am."
A silence lingered over the table, as Ravonna stared at him. Waiting for anything that would make her believe otherwise. But Theo knew better. He kept his facade up, before she stood from her seat adjusting her skirt. "Very well D-16 that will be all." She turned on her heels and left him sitting at the desk.
Internally he was struggling to comprehend what had happened. Why had she asked about the Variant? She had never asked this before of any of the minutemen. So why him? Why now?
He looked around the now empty room, something didn't make sense. Those images in his head. Why she was so adamant that she knew him? She didn't know Mobius? Or B-15...So why did she know him?
As he stood from the chair, he remembered what Ravonna had said. Y/N had been pruned?
She was meant to be here helping. Why would they have had her pruned? He raced for the doors in order to find Mobius and Loki.
Perhaps they could help.
