Lagoona gritted her teeth as you giggled with Jackson. She had tried to relax to the diner, but you had strolled in 30 minutes after her. It was as if you really were following her.

Lagoona eyed the time clock on the wall. It was 11:38 at night. Didn't you have somewhere to be other than where she was?

You didn't seem to pay her any mind, though, which Lagoona loved and loathed at the same time.

She pulled her phone out and scrolled through her apps. She had to take her mind off of you or else you would ruin her. If you already haven't, that was. Lagoona didn't understand why you were always there.

Stop! That's enough thinking. She clicked on a game and smiled at the little character she played as. Her fingers used the controls easily, slipping her mind from her hatred for you to her love for the app.

Your voice rang out through the basically empty diner. Lagoona gritted her teeth and slammed her phone down. Damn. Couldn't you shut your fucking mouth for five seconds??

Guilt immediately followed her thoughts, and she wanted to apologize to you but was too prideful to do so.

Instead of apologizing or making contact with you in general, she decided to stay put and glare at the back of your head. Your (H/C) hair looked casually neat, with a few strands sticking out of place but the majority seeming to hold its shape and style perfectly. She glared harder.

Why couldn't you leave? Why couldn't she go back to not thinking of you or hating you? Her not knowing of your existence was much better than...whatever this was.

Lagoona dragged her hand down her face and sulked. Her eyes had dark bags under them where she hadn't been able to sleep, and the ached terribly at the harsh movement. She sighed and held back the pain.

Her brain was fried. She was so tired of worrying over you. What did you do to deserve a place in her mind? Why were you so special?

Lagoona practically seethed at you. You were nothing. You meant nothing. Now, if only she could force herself to believe it in the same way she forced herself to think it.

You gave a lighthearted giggle to Jackson. Lagoona noticed your relaxed smile and cringed. She had to stop thinking, and as much as she hated it, she knew she couldn't.

Lagoona bit down on her tongue and focused on her table once again. Why were you everywhere? Why were you always where she was or wanted to be? Why were you always around her??

If she didn't know any better, she'd say you were following her. It would make sense, wouldn't it? Anytime she arrived at a place you were already there or you walked in a few minutes later. But why would you be watching her?

Lagoona's brain hurt from all her thinking, but as much as she wanted to stop, she didn't. She had to figure it out, even if it killed her. Her curiosity was already latched onto you, and it didn't look like it was going to ease up any.

She rubbed the sides of her head in frustration. Why were you just...there?

If you had tried to make yourself more visible to her, and that was a big if, then you were doing it successfully. If your goal was to stand out, then you had achieved it. There wasn't a day that Lagoona wasn't plagued by you.

It made sense how. It made sense that you followed her. It made sense that you acted like you couldn't see her. But what didn't make sense was why. Why were you doing this? What was your motive?

Maybe you hated her too. But then wouldn't you want to stay away from her as much as possible? Maybe you were trying to be petty. But over what? You had no reason to be petty.

Maybe...it was the opposite? Maybe you actually liked her and just didn't know how to express it? And just to take it a step further, maybe you had a crush on her?

No, surely not.

But as Lagoona stared at you, she noticed something she hadn't before. Your eyes, a beautiful shade of (E/C), held a type of adoration for whatever you were talking about. Your hair glistened softly. Your skin looked smooth. Your smile looked so genuine.

Suddenly, everything she had ever hated about you turned her into a blushing mess. Her eyes threw themselves back on the table as she felt the heat rise to her ears.

Maybe she wasn't seeing you everywhere because you liked her. Maybe she liked you.

Lagoona swallowed hard. She had spent so much time loathing you that now she had no idea what to do without those feelings. Her immediate change of thought was confusing, but not really unexpected. You were amazing. How had she never noticed the amount of personality you had?

She was able to see a bit of you in everything you did. Your enthusiasm was shown through you talking with your hands. Your happiness was shown through your wide smile. Your innocence was shown through you holding an open posture. Your purity was shown through your simple outfit. Little pieces of you were embedded in your movement and surroundings.

Lagoona settled her eyes on your face again. A blush rose to her cheeks again, but she didn't stop it from coming on. The thrill of seeing you outside of school was too much, and she bit down a smile. You were so cute!

Her hatefulness seemed silly and childish now. How could she have ever disliked you? She didn't understand her own brain, but shrugged it off. If it was important, then she'd understand.

Your hands lifted up to your hair. Lagoona held back a giggle at seeing you fix your already perfect appearance.

Maybe you weren't following her. Maybe Lagoona knew she liked you all along, and following you was a way for her to prove that to herself. Whatever grudge she held against you was long gone, and instead replaced with butterflies.

She stood to her feet, unable to contain her girlish laughter anymore, and dashed from the diner. You stared at the door that was slowly closing itself.

"Since when was Lagoona here?" You asked.

Jackson shrugged. "I don't know, I never paid attention."

You shrugged back, ignoring her and focusing on your conversation once again.
