You, Lagoona, and Jackson walked into school the next day. Lagoona stayed glued to your hip, too clingy to let go. You allowed her to, however, and you didn't speak a word about it. You figured it would take no more than a month for her to be distant again.
You and Jackson said your goodbye's before parting ways, leaving you and Lagoona all alone. You walked quickly to your locker and put in the lock code. Lagoona stayed close to you, every once in a while looking around to see if anyone was staring at you.
No one ever was, yet it relieved some type of anxiety she had building up. You finally let her close, and what should have been a happy moment had turned into a completely different one. Now, she worried constantly. What if someone else has your attention? What if you had someone else's attention? What if you didn't want her around anymore?
The thoughts built up, leaving her defenseless against them. What was she supposed to do? Would she fight them? Would she ward them off? Would she go to an extreme to get rid of them? She didn't know, and her not knowing was even worse.
"What're you getting?" She asked after a moment.
You hummed. "Just some textbooks. You know, can't go to class without them."
"I do." She scoffed. Her attempt to seem cool to you actually turned into the complete opposite.
You chuckled. "Well, have fun failing."
She crossed her arms. "I'm not failing."
"I know, I know." You teased. You tapped her shoulder before continuing your search. "I'm just picking on you."
Lagoona smiled happily. "Oh, right!"
You squinted at her and shook your head. "Aren't you going to go to class?"
She shook her head no. "I'm going to stay with you!"
"But...I have class too."
"Yeah, I can just wait outside for you!"
You shrugged and exhaled sharply. "Okay then."
You locked your locker back up and made your way down the hall. Lagoona followed, a bubble of passion making its way to her gut. Oh, how she loved you. Oh, how she wished you loved her back.
But you had been so tolerant of her behavior, she wanted to keep proving to you that she was worth keeping around. She wanted you to need her as much as she felt she needed you.
You turned a corner suddenly, and she scrambled to keep up. She lost you in the crowd, the multiple students blocking her from seeing your head. Panic struck her, sending her mind down a stairwell of anxiety.
Lagoona's vision became tunneled, and she felt as if a lock was on her lungs. She hyperventilated, too scared of loosing you to worry about her own breathing. She ran down the halls and yelled out for you.
Her peers turned to look at her with confusion. Why was she screaming so much? Why was she crying?
Lagoona knew what they were thinking. She simply didn't care.
"(Y/N)!!" She called out again, her voice breaking as her throat became scratchy. ((Y/N) please!"
She sat down against a wall and sobbed. She lost you. She had actually managed to loose you.
"Lagoona?" You hummed.
Lagoona lifted her head, her eyes blurry from the tears that continuously poured down her face.
"Oh, Lagoona." You sighed, and you bent down to be on her eye level. She reached out for you like a toddler would to its parents.
You took her into your arms, feeling guilty for leaving her behind and causing her to go into such hysterics.
She crawled into your lap and sobbed again. "You-You left me."
"I didn't leave you." You said. "We got separated. You just got lost."
"D-Don't lose me again." She begged.
You nodded your head apologetically. "I'll be more careful."
Guilt nipped at you, and you ran a hand through your hair as you helped her stand. A smile returned to her face the moment your hand fell into hers, and she quickly wiped her tears before grinning widely.
"I love you." She cooed.
"I know." You replied.
She didn't feel offended, she knew your feelings. But you must have felt something for her if you came to console her!
She didn't want to think about reality. She didn't want to think about the possibility that maybe you were just being a nice person. She only wanted to believe that you had feelings for her.
She held your hand tightly as you two walked down the halls. She gripped your arm and sent you a cheerful smile. You returned it with a smile of your own before continuing to look on the path ahead. Lagoona rested her head on your shoulder and sighed dreamily.
"What?" You asked.
"I just can't believe we're this close!" She squealed. "It's like I'm your biggest fan, and I'm holding the hand of my favorite idol!"
"Oh." Was all you said in return.
She gave you a small peck kiss on the cheek before coming to a stop.
"What're you doing?" You asked.
"This is your class!" She pointed to the door she stood beside.
"Oh yeah, it is." You hummed. You waved to her goodbye before stepping into your class.
Jackson sat at your shared table with a scowl. "Did she act weird?"
"Of course." You chuckled.
