A couple of weeks gone by since the day I graduated high school and my boyfriend asked me to move in with him. I never thought Drew would be asking such a big question so early into our relationship. Yes I know we're in a serious relationship but do couples just decide to move in together just because. I don't even know if I'm ready.
Honestly after he asked me that I didn't know what to tell him. I haven't thought about doing anything like that at least not yet. I also haven't told anyone about it except for Lizzie. I know moving in with with someone is a big step into a relationship.
"Move in with me?"
I kept replaying that question over and over in my head again.
"Hey, you're mom wants you to come downstairs for dinner." Violet says to me.
Violet and I still haven't talked to each other like we use to normally but my moms been making us talk. Honestly I'm kinda over the whole drama with her. I know Drew is loyal so there's no reason for me fight Violet over anything.
"Okay." I tell her and went downstairs to go eat with them.
When sitting down at the dinning table I noticed how my mom and Bert are so relaxed living together as couple. I wonder if I'll have that if I move in with Drew.
We would cook together, sleep in the same bed, clean together and since we're both in college supporting each other. It does sound kind of nice.
God what am I even thinking about?
"Guys Bert made dinner and if it taste different just know it's not me." My mom laughed.
"What are you afraid of, I use to cook all the time back in college."
"Honey what year did you graduate college?" My mom asked him.
"I already know where this is going, let's not talk about that." Bert says.
It's chicken and potatoes for dinner. I took a bite of Berts food that he cooked apparently. It's actually pretty good.
"How does it taste Jade?" My mom asked me.
"Good."
"You see?" Bert says.
"Did he pay you to say it's good." My mom asked me.
"I didn't even know he was cooking tonight."
"Oh my god honey eat it. It's that good." Bert tells her. After being together for so long they aren't like sick of each other like Lizzie's parents are with each other.
"Do you guys like living together?" I asked them.
"What kind of question is that, we're married." My mom says.
"Just wondering, I mean there are married couples who aren't happy you know."
"I'm very happy living with your mom." Bert says.
"What's the secret to being a happy couple?" I asked them. Bert and my mom are the only two I can think of who are in a stable relationship.
"This is different, you've never asked us these questions Jade?"
"It's nothing just wondering," I tell them.
"From the bottom of heart Jade, I loved your mom since I lay my eyes on her and as for living together of course we're very happy living together. We're very communicative and share everything. I guess that's what makes her happy."
I honestly didn't think I'd get such a good response.
"But what reason did you have for moving in together?"
