7 Years Later . . .

After graduating from Willow Park, I started working for a tech company. Since work ended a bit early today, I met up with a college friend of mine named Mia. I haven't exactly seen her or hang out her the past two years but we do keep in contact. She was the area she called me to hang out with me. When I get there I see she's already seated by the window.

"Jade!" She ran up to me for a hug.

"It's been a while," she says.

"I know so what have you been up to?" I asked her.

"Nothing crazy, just you know there and there. I'm planning on moving to this area." She says.

"Really?"

"I thought you loved it over there."

My friend Mia, after graduating she decided to move to a town further from the city. She told me she liked that it's quiet for her and it was her dream to raise a family in a less crowded city.

"I know but commuting everyday to work for an hour is a pain in the ass."

"I get it." I tell her.

"Anyway what's this?" She points at my fingers. I looked and see my engagement ring that Drew proposed with about two years ago.

"I'm getting married," I tell her.

"No way, how did I not know this and when?"

"Well we never really talked on that subject really and last time I saw you, I didn't have it on either."

"So when are you getting married?" She asked.

"Uh next week." I answered her. She stopped and looked at me for a moment.

"Are we really friends?" She asked me.

"Of course we are, it's just ever since you moved far, we haven't exactly hang out except talk on the phone and that is sometimes." I tell her.

"Alright fine, it would be nice if you at least told me you were engage."

Maybe she's right, but it just never crossed my mind and Drew and I weren't even planning a big wedding.

"Hello ladies, my name is John and I'll be your waiter, what can I get for you." The waiter came to greet us.

"Do you have any sweet bread?" I asked him.

"Sweet Bread, yes but that's usually serve for breakfast. We're only selling from the dinner menu but we do have breadsticks." He says.

God no that sounds awful. I feel that would make me puke all over again.

"It's okay, I just wanted bread. Mia there's these sweet mini bagels at the grocery store. I can't stop eating them."

"Order something like cake, I'm sure it's a good substitute to it," Mia says.

"Uh no, hold on," I grabbed my bag and pull out the last bagel I had in the bag with with me.

"I'll just have the caesar salad with dressing on the side, I'll get a glass of Pinot Noirs." Mia tells the waiter.

"Sounds good."

"I'll just get a glass of water." I tell him.

"Are you serious? You're not ordering anything?"
