"See you later, Mon!" I waved goodbye to Riley as she descended down the stairs.
Club time namin ngayon at mag-kaiba kami ng club ni Riley. Pinili ko ang Art club, siya naman sa volleyball.
Riley did not want us to be in separate clubs because bago lang kami sa school na ito. We didn't know anyone but our classmates, but I told her that we should take this opportunity to communicate with other people.
I also know that hindi kami parehas ng interests so I didn't want to force her to do something she didn't like for a whole year.
I was waiting for Jasmine who was still fixing her things inside. "Mon, hintay!" She yelled, at sumilip ako sa loob para lang makita niya ako.
When she saw me, a smile made its way to her face. Sinarado na niya ang bag niya at dali-dali siyang naglakad papunta sa akin, not wanting to waste anymore time.
In ten minutes, mag-lilista na yatang late yung mga nasa student council tapos yung building na pupuntahan namin nasa kabilang dulo pa ng school.
"Tara." Pag-aya niya at mabilis na kaming naglakad papunta sa room ng club namin.
Jasmine and I both took a painting club, giving us the opportunity to get to know each other. Hindi naman ako mahilig mag-pinta, but I wanted to try something different, kung hindi ko nagustohan, baka ibang club nanaman ang kukunin ko next year.
In my last school, I always took the Journalism club and I got bored of it after a while. I liked writing, but I don't want to be pressured while doing so, it makes me like it less.
I felt concerned when Jasmine started to look for something inside her bag, nakakunot na rin ang noo niya ngayon dahil mukhang hindi niya mahanap.
"Hehe, Mon may watercolor paper ka bang extra?" Nahihiyang tanong ni Jasmine sa akin, sighing in defeat as she closed her bag.
Since it had only been a few weeks since classes started, nagkakahiyaan pa kaming dalawa, but I hoped that soon, magiging close na kami.
I chuckled before nodding. "Bigyan nalang kita mamaya, don't worry." Sagot ko, earning a thank you from her.
As we walked.. Well, semi ran to the art club, pinag-usapan namin ang mga klase namin before this period.
"Naiinis talaga ako sa mga ka-grupo ko! I'm not even the leader of the group and yet I'm doing everything on my own." She exclaimed and I found myself resonating with her.
Hindi lang yun ang kinaiinisan ko, kahit kakasimula palang ng klase ang dami nang pinapagawa sa amin. I was having a difficult time balancing all of the subjects, tapos may mga magpapabigat pa.
"Kahit talaga anong year, hindi nawawala ang mga pabuhat, 'no?" I sighed in frustration.
And she sighed as well before nodding in agreement.
By the time we made it to the room, hinihingal na kami. Narinig na kasi namin yung bell kaya we ran the rest of the way there. Bakit kasi ang laki ng campus, pwede namang ipagsama-sama nalang yung buildings, diba? Char.
"I want you to meet someone!" She told me as we reached our club and I chuckled dahil mukhang pagod na pagod pa rin siya.
"Who?" I asked, curious as I fanned my face with my hands, trying to cool it down. Buti nalang nasa labas pa ang mga students, we didn't have to knock and awkwardly make our way towards our seats.
"My sister!" Sagot niya, making me furrow my eyebrows dahil sa ilang linggo naming magkasama, wala siyang nababanggit na kapatid.
She has a sister?
