"Laine, tapos mo na ba yung part mo?" I smiled tightly at my group mate as she chatted away with Greg, another one of my classmates.

Malapit na yung Intrams practice period and yung part nalang niya yung kailangan namin, last week pa binigay yung work.

After a few minutes, napansin na niya akong naka-tayo sa harap nila.

Tinaasan niya ako ng kilay. "I'm sorry, what were you saying?"

I fought the urge to scoff and just continued on smiling.

"Your part. For our group work?" I elaborated, baka sakaling ma-gets niya.

"What group work?" I swear I almost rolled my eyes.

"The one for pre-calculus."

"Chill. Bukas pa deadline noon."

"Yes... Tomorrow morning. 7 am, sharp."

Hindi na tumatanggap ng late yung pre-calculus subject teacher namin, kahit one minute late lang.

"I asked you guys the other day kung pwede bang ngayong day natin ipa-pass. You all agreed."

She snickered.

"Girl.. 'di mo pa ginagawa..?" Tanong ni Greg. "Late ka pa naman lagi pumapasok."

"I still have until the end of the day." She rolled her eyes at us.

"Wala naman akong gagawin niyan, eh. Chill lang kayo."

"Ma'am's only at school until 5:00, Laine."

"Yea, so?"

"Kung wala kang gagawin next period, good for you. Pero ako kasi meron. I have to practice, so I wouldn't have the time to pass it later on kasi gagabihin kami. I need your part now, Laine."

"Geez. Hindi lang naman ikaw yung iniintindi ko. Kung pwede naman pala hanggang bukas, bakit hindi nalang kasi bukas? So annoying."

"Oh, really? From what I can see, parang hindi ka naman busy, so what's stopping you from doing it right now?"

She rolled her eyes. "Fine. I'll do it now."

Yun naman pala eh.

I walked away from them.

'Bakit pa kasi siya yung naging leader? Desisyon ka, girl?.' I heard her murmer.

"Ano ka ba kasi, last week pa yan binigay. Hanggang ngayon 'di ka pa rin tapos?"

"Tsk. Don't take her side. Ang yabang-yabang niya for a transferee. Tignan mo naman, ilang buwan palang dito nakuha na niyang lumandi kay Theo at kay Yoha-"

"If you want to say something, say it directly to my face." I turned around to face her.

I snickered and smiled bitterly.

"Tingin mo ba, gusto kong maging leader? You guys voted for ME. Kung gusto mo palang ikaw mag-desisyon, why didn't you volunteer? I gave you enough time to finish the task, I also constantly reminded all of you to do it. Don't mistake ignorance and lack of time management for incorrect leadership." I huffed.

"And by the way, I don't know when my life began to be any of your business, but instead of talking about other peoples' lives, why don't you mind your own business and simulan mo na yung pinapagawa sa'yo bago pa kita tanggalin sa grupo. If you don't have that finished by 3:30, I'll take you off the group. You got that?"

I said all of that with the sweetest smile I could muster.

Tingin niya ba siya lang may kayang mag-sungit?
