Zermatt, Switzerland.

I walk around the cold unfamiliar streets of Switzerland. Sinabi ko kila mama na may pupuntahan lang ako and I wanted to go there alone. They were hesitant, pero pinayagan naman nila ako. They just told me to be safe.

After two days of being here, wala pa akong nabibiling regalo kay Theo and it made me feel crazy.

When we were going up to our hotel, I came across a shop that sold yarn and knitting tools. Hindi ko mapuntahan no'n kasi kasama ko sila mama, but now I finally have time for myself.

Kahit na sumikat na ang araw it was still so cold, umalis ako nang maaga para maaga rin akong makabalik but I think I'm starting to regret that now.

I kept my location on para kung nawala man ako, alam nila mama kung saan nila ako hahanapin. It was somehow easy to get around here in Zermatt, but still, hindi ko pa rin alam kung saan ako pumupunta.

My eyes lit up when I saw the familiar sign board up front, and from the slightly frosted windows I could see the warm fireplace. Finally!

Pumasok ako sa store and took off my coat, thanking the Gods for the heat. There was a coat rack on the side so sinabit ko muna doon yung coat ko before looking around the place.

It was... cozy. I like it. The wooden shelves were filled with different kinds and colors of yarn and there were mint green couches beside the window. When you look outside, you could find a view of the Matterhorn.

I love this place.

"Guten Tag!" I greeted the woman up front as I approached her, I tried to pronounce it as accurate as possible.

She chuckled. "American?" She asked in her German accent. Umiling ako pero wew, what a compliment! Compliment yun diba?

"No, but I'm a tourist." I gave her a smile.

"Oh! Wonderful. How are you liking Switzerland so far?" tanong niya.

"It's... colder than what I'm used to." I laughed, and she did too.

"What can I do for you today?"

"I'm here for some yarn, and tools too." sabi ko sa kanya.

She took out a small stool and sumampa roon para maabot niya ang nasa pinakataas.

She started picking out some of the tools.

"What kind of yarn are you looking for, miss?"

"Something that's good for... sweaters? Sage green, cream, and red, for a heart."

She gave me a warm smile. "Is it for a gift?"

I nodded.  "Yes. Um, do you guys perhaps teach how to crochet too?"

She nodded 'yes' before handing me the materials and tools, which was a lot by the way. I put them inside my bag before paying her, sinali na rin niya yung lessons sa babayaran ko.

"The crocheting lessons are through the door." sabi niya sa akin before heading back to her seat. "And if you need more yarn, you could always come back here. But I think what I gave you is enough!"
