(Y/N)'s pov:
The moment I stepped out of the pathway which we thought would probably lead to Neo City, I looked around in shock. Alice was being dragged out of the pathway as she kept on resisting to go back. It took us about an hour to finally agree on returning back and fighting in the war, but Alice was the only one who denied. Jason and Alex were quick enough to pull her along with them because we couldn't risk losing a superhumans power during the battle.
"What are you gaping at?" Yuta asked as he stood beside me. He averted his eyes to where I was looking and his jaws dropped. We were on top of a cliff and right below us was a.... City? A far stretched land which consisted of houses and buildings of all sorts, something which we never expected to see. Everyone were surprised at the sight.
"Wait.... Are we back in the human world?" Haechan asked in confusion as he scratched his head and looked back at the pathway we came from. I found a smile and a look of relief forming on Alice's face when human world was mentioned. No wonder she was desperate to go back. I turned around and looked at the city in front of me again. Wait!
"It's not the human world! Look over there." I pointed at the forest behind the city. Everyone's eyes followed to where my finger was pointing at and a hint of realization was seen in their faces. "Isn't it our...?"
"Battlefield...." Jungwoo's voice trailed off. "So behind the forest is our so-called school. That means we have to walk the whole distance?" Instead of fear, his voice showed irritation.
"We can use our powers. Remember, we're back in Neo City... That means we can use our powers." I could hear a sigh of relief from everyone. Alice, on the other hand, scoffed at me.
"Why are you the one who always takes away my happiness?" She commented making me roll my eyes.
"As if I get any happier by taking it away from you." I replied, earning pitiful looks from everyone. We were standing at the edge of the cliff, I thought of jumping off for a moment. Suddenly I felt someone holding my wrist. On turning around, I found Yuta, his eyes showing fear in them. I raised an eyebrow at him.
"What are you thinking about!?" he asked in a rough tone. That's when I realized that we were back in the superhuman world and I was technically speaking in his head. I muttered a small sorry and looked away. Within few minutes Stacy opened up a portal which led straight to the school grounds. In no time we were all gathered there, with Taeyoung counting the number of people with his finger, which he had been doing since we started to search for the cave.
Probably because of the noises we made, the Chief and other professors came running out. The look of shock in their faces made it clear how unhappy they were after noticing our presence. Well I wasn't too happy to see them too, considering the situation we were in. "Why did you all come this soon?" the Chief asked in vain. I snickered at his behaviour. We wouldn't have had to leave if he had let us know about the whole prophecy thing.
"We found out the whole truth." said Taeyoung and soon after he explained our complete adventure and encounters upto this moment. The Chief and the staff listened to the whole matter without any reaction.
"This was what we feared. Mr.X had told me about the prophecy long before. I thought that if the Queen is dead then the prophecy would be of no use, but still, instead of taking risks, I sent you all to the human world so that you aren't here when the eclipse takes place. The fact that you all would come here before that day, was something I didn't expect." the Chief heaved a big sigh. "But seems like this time the war would be more deadly than you think."
Obviously whatever he did was for our benefit but hiding important matters wasn't something I would appreciate. We all could have sorted it out together.
From a distance I could hear someone sobbing. On turning around I found Alice crying her eyes out. It was a rare scene because I've always seen her with rage in her eyes whenever she was around me. Well.... It wasn't my fault that she fell for the person who like me.
"Lets just teleport back to the cave pathway and return back to the human world. Please." she cried as her cheeks turned red, tears flowing continuously.
"Unfortunately, you can't. The moment you stepped into this world, the cave pathways would automatically be sealed. As I said, if you return this time, there's no way back home. This is your home." the Chief explained to us.
"Now that I think about it.... What's with the big city behind this forest?" I asked the question which had been disturbing me for a while.
"That city was made for the superhumans to live in. The Neo City. If it wasn't for the revenge of the Queen, we all would have lived happily with our families there. But now the question is..... Will we live?" the Chief trailed off leaving me dumbfounded. A place where we could live? Why were we confined in these school surroundings when we could have lived there?
"Get inside first. You need to take lots of rest. Now that you're back, you should get ready to fight too. It's now or never. It should either be the evil queen or the superhumans." the Chief ended the conversation and motioned us to move into the school. Stop calling her evil. I thought.
"I didn't sign up for this. I thought it would be an adventure but it is simply suicide." Alex mumbled as he walked beside me. "Should I get the Queen a man? She might be happy and forgive us?" he asked me foolishly.
"You probably have to search for a dead man's soul then." I replied, chuckling a bit.
"Mr.X would be perfect!! The root of all cause." Yuta joined in and started having a 'diss Mr.X' competition with Alex. It was funny how carefree a person could be even in such dreadful situations. I was literally dying inside. As a doctor I used to advice my patients to take everything easy, but I never acted the same.
