(Y/N)' pov:

The moon was ready to cover the sun. The queen had a wide smile plastered on her face, as she watched us, the Yokais pointing guns at each other's faces. The reason she was here was to see us die. If she does that, her wish will come true and her soul will rest in peace. But before that, one of our soul should rest in peace first.

I saw Yuta moving forward with the gun in his hands, his expressions making it hard for me to believe that he once loved me. I, on the other hand, hesitated on doing anything. Whatever we do, the result was my death. I was sure of it. I unwillingly pulled the slide back, loading my handgun as I held it tightly, in an attempt to make him stop moving forward. From the corner of my eyes, I could see everyone's shocked expressions due to my actions.

For a moment Yuta stopped and looked at me but continued moving towards me again. My finger wrapped around the trigger as I was trying my best not to tremble. Yuta now stood few centimeters away from me, his gun pointing at my head, while mine was pointing at his chest due to our height difference. My eyes started filling up with tears making my vision blurred but I dared not to let them out.

Yuta took one last look at the queen and then looked back at me again. His hand slowly dropped down, his revolver falling to the ground eventually. My eyes followed its trail and looked back into his eyes in confusion. But within that time, he took hold of my hand which was wrapped around the gun and pulled it closer to his chest. My eyes widened at his actions as I tried to pull away my hand from his grip.

I didn't know if it was his real strength or his power which made it difficult for me to pull away from his grip. "W-What are y-you doing?" Leave the gun!!" I said seriously, but he didn't seem to give any reply. The only thing working was his hand which held onto mine tighter.

"Do you think I wouldn't understand anything?" Yuta finally spoke up. "Why does it always have to be you? Out of everyone else... Why only you!?" he voice raised a bit now, making everyone look at us. I was confused at first but my expression turned into a one with fear when I realized what he meant.

I struggled to remove his hand from mine as finally the tears started falling down." N-No...No... I told you not to do anything stupid." I shouted at him, now trying to pull back my hand from his chest as I was unable to remove his hand. But he kept it steady and it got me tensed. The eclipse was about to set. I knew I couldn't get out of his grip even though I struggle. I helplessly looked around at everyone but they were rooted to their spots because of the queen who was rather interested in our lives.

"N-No....Please...Listen... Don't do a-anything. J-just wait for few seconds. T-the eclipse would end... We will e-endure it all once again. B-but p-please don't—" (Y/N)'s voice trailed off when Yuta's finger wrapped around her finger which was on the trigger. If the eclipse ends and the queen doesn't get her wish fulfilled, it was clear that she would return with her squad and start those battles again. The only way to let her soul rest in peace was to die. Of course we can't wait for another 200 years for this eclipse to occur again, but I was ready to give in only to make sure Yuta doesn't pull the trigger.

"P-please.. Listen to me. Don't d-do it–"

"Just remember this." Yuta cut me off as he directly looked into my eyes, clearly showing his emotions for the first time since he raised his gun. "Every moment we spent together was precious. There wasn't even a single moment I had spent with you, in which I didn't love you." his voice was soft and slow which made my knees go weak. He had a sad smile on his face. I wanted everything to end, but not in this way.

"Please... N-No—"

My heart stopped when I felt my finger being pushed by his, in turn pulling the trigger. The loud gunshot sent shivers through my spine, as I saw his smile fade away and his hands slip away from mine through which he held the gun. My eyes exchanged glances between his eyes and the place where the bullet went through his chest. His body fell to the ground with a thud and my hand fell to my side simultaneously. His eyes slowly closed but all I could see in them was love and affection. His eyes showed that he didn't regret what he did.

I dropped down on my knees, a tear escaping from my eyes. I was wrong. I was completely wrong. The vision I saw was being played in front me. How foolish I was to think I'd die. How foolish I was to misinterpret my vision. I only heard the gunshot and my body dropping to the ground. I never saw blood and any gunshots wounds on me. Then how could I believe that I was supposed to die?

The sight of the love of my life laying lifeless in front of me almost took away my soul. I felt empty and lifeless too. I committed a huge mistake and let him be the prey of it.

Third person's pov:

The queen's smile widened at the sight of the male Yokai collapsing to the ground. Her wish finally came true as she saw him dying. Everyone's attention was on Yuta. The queen slowly took leave as her translucent body started forming into ashes. The Chief came into the scene and took notice of her. He informed the rest of the students about her spirit leaving them forever, diverting their attention towards the sky. But (Y/N) still looked at the ground unable to believe what she did.

The queen finally disappeared, not only from that scene but even from their lives with a satisfied smile as she saw what she wished for. As for the superhumans, the real sorrow began only now.
