Chapter 7: Crazy

When the group all had their stuff and entered the building the man locked the door and started talking to someone, ¨Vi seal the main entrance. Kill the power up here.΅

Alexis watched as the doors slowly shut and a stone barrier came down and covered the doors from the outside. Rick looked at the man, ¨Rick Grimes.¨

The man scanned our group and hesitantly spoke, ¨Dr. Edwin Jenner. Now if you would please all follow me.¨

The group followed him into a big silver elevator, the whole group fit into it but at the same time Alexis had some problems with her breathing. ¨Doctor's always go around packing heat like that?¨ Daryl asked, eyeing up Jenner.

¨Well there were plenty left lying around. I familiarized myself. But you all look harmless enough.¨ Jenner says then eyes Carl for a split second, ¨Except you. I'll have to keep my eye on you.¨ He saids jokingly, making Alexis smile when she sees Carl slightly smile and then look at the floor.

When they finally reached the level they needed to be on, the group started walking down a long bright hallway until Carol spoke up, ¨Are we underground?¨

¨Are you claustrophobic?¨ Jenner asked, turning around to look at Carol.

¨ A little.¨ Carol responds.

Jenner turns back around and sighs, ''Try not to think about it."

Alexis stops for a second and rubs her ankle in discomfort as the rest of the group walks in a giant room, Jacqui notices the girl and walks over to her. ¨You okay?¨ she asked worriedly.

¨Yeah, yeah i'm good. It's just my ankle. The night of the attack a walker made me twist it wrong when it fell on top of me, but I'm all good.¨ Alexis says, smiling as she walks towards the room with Jacqui.

¨Vi, bring up the lights in the big room.¨ Jenner yells, after a second the room lights up and he starts walking towards the middle of the room, ¨Welcome to zone 5.¨

¨Where is everybody? The other doctors and staff?¨ Rick asked slightly confused as he followed the man.

¨I'm it.¨ Jenner confesses. ¨It's just me here.¨

¨What about the person you were talking to, Vi?¨ Lori asked.

¨Vi, say hello to our guest.¨ Jenner paused, ¨Tell them welcome.¨

Out of nowhere a computer voice starts talking, ¨Hello, guests. Welcome.¨

¨That's so cool.¨ Alexis whispers, making Jacqui chuckle.

¨I'm all that's left.¨ Jenner resumes. ¨I'm sorry.¨ He finished leading us to another room filled with chairs, he started taking everyone's blood and when it was Alexis's turn he looked at the girl. ¨You seem familiar, like i've seen you before.¨

Alexis looked at the man in confusion since she too thought he looked familiar earlier but she didn't know why. ¨Oh maybe I just have that type of face.¨ Alexis chuckled awkwardly.

¨Jacob Crown.¨

The world around her froze. She looked at Jenner in shock as he spoke that name. ¨What?¨ Alexis asked.

¨Jacob Crown, eighteen, he was diagnosed with spinal cancer. You're his sister, correct?¨ Jenner asked.

¨How did you know about that?¨ Alexis asked.

¨I was his doctor. I worked up at the hospital for a small amount of time. He was one of my last patients. I'm so sorry for your loss.¨ Jenner says sticking the needle into her arm. When he was done Alexis grabbed a napkin and placed onto the part of her arm were the small red dot slowly formed. She excused herself and walked to the back of the room sitting on a chair as her emotions slowly started to get the best of her. She stared at the ceiling above her and heard someone sit beside her when she looked over she saw Jacqui in the seat beside her and looked at the girl with sadness as she saw the hurt in the younger girls eyes. Tears slowly fell from Alexis's eyes as Jacqui pats her shoulder.
