Chapter 33: Cellblock D

Alexis stood in the courtyard with Trisha, the two held onto a giant piece of wood, carrying it to towards the fence to the fields.

"How's Ethan?" Alexis asked, setting her side down and sliding the door open.

"He's still sleeping. He had a long night, apparently he had a nightmare." Trisha said, also putting her side down. "My poor boy, hasn't gotten a good nights sleep in awhile."

"It's hard to get sleep now. Especially since we have so much to fear now." Alexis explained, when she went to grab her side the sound of a gunshot went off.

"Help! Help, please come quick!" Mika yelled, running at Alexis, Lizzie running behind her.

"Mika! What's going on?" Alexis yelled, holding the girl once she got to her.

"There's walkers in D!" Lizzie yelled, standing behind her sister.

Glenn and Carol joined Alexis, they looked back and saw Rick running in, "Walkers in D!" Glenn yelled.

"What about C?" Rick yelled back.

"It's clear!" Sasha yelled, appearing from the entrance to C, Daryl and Tyreese behind her. "We locked the gates to the tombs. Hershel's on guard."

"It ain't a breach." Daryl explained.

"We followed the plan!" Sasha yelled, all of them running toward the cell block.

"Alexis." Trisha muttered, tears falling from her eyes. "Ethan."

Both of their legs never moved so fast. The two ran inside the doors following behind the group as they all ran into Cell block D. Chaos was around them as people were screaming, shooting or running past Alexis. "ETHAN!" Alexis yelled, running toward a walker who used to be a survivor here stabbing her in the face. Trisha killing doing the same beside her. "ETHAN!" Alexis yelled again, trying to pick him out from the crowd.

The sound of a child screaming made Alexis and Trisha turn, Ethan was crawling away from a walker who was hot on his trail. "Stay here!" Alexis said as she ran forward, jumping over a long table and kicking the walker away from Ethan. She bent down, picking the boy up and kicked the walker again when it tried to grab her, a bolt shooting past into the walkers shoulder. Alexis ran to an empty cell and put Ethan down only to be tackled from behind by the same walker who still had a bolt in his shoulder. Ethan cried out trying to kick the monster off of her, but he was too weak. Alexis looked up at Ethan, "Grab my knife!" She yelled, nodding her head toward her pockets. Alexis turned her body away from Ethan so the walker wouldn't notice the small child. Ethan grabbed the knife and handed it over too Alexis, knowing he wasn't strong enough. "Close your eyes buddy." She said to him waiting for his eyes to be closed. Alexis stabbed the walker in the eye and pushed in, the creature going limp. She pushed the walker out of the cell they were in.

"ARE WE CLEAR DOWN HERE?!" Rick yelled from outside.

Everyone responded with a yes of some sort.

Alexis looked at the boy, "Are you bit, scratched, hurt in any way?" She said, checking him for any marks.

Ethan just shook his head and hugged Alexis tight. "I want my mommy."

Alexis slowly pulled away and looked at him, "Let's get you to her, huh?" She lifted him up, and peaked out the door. "Cover your eyes for me?" She asked.

Ethan shoved his head in Alexis's shoulder, covering his eyesight. She carried him out where Trisha was waiting, "Oh thank god." Trisha said, grabbing onto Ethan. "Thank you. Thank you."

Alexis nodded, watching as the mother fell to the ground softly, holding onto Ethan as tight as she could without hurting him. Alexis turned back into the cell block, up to the top, Hershel following behind her to make sure everyone was okay. Daryl walked up to Alexis, moving her hair and clothing while checking for bites. When he was done she did the same, after they both knew they were okay, they hugged for a split second till a walker slammed against the door, the walker had blood coming from him eyes, ears and mouth, its eyes were also very dilated. Alexis realized that the man in front of them, it was Charlie. Alexis didn't know him that well, but Daryl hanged around him a little bit so that's how she knows him. Rick put the walker down, the prisons main doctor Caleb walked up to the walker when Rick opened the door.
