The house was quiet, the sundown shinning in the cracked windows. People getting ready for sleep filled the area, as Alexis walked into Ethan and Carl's room. The smaller boy being the only one there at the moment. The woman smiled slightly at him, watching him carefully as he played with something, his back was turned to her.

"Whatca doing?" Alexis asked, making him spin around. He hid the item behind him, causing her to raise a brow at him. She put her hand out. "What do you have?"

Ethan slowly pulls the item out, showing her one of Daryl's bolts in his hand. "I found it in your room. You can take it if you want to."

Alexis walked up and sat down next to him, not taking the bolt out of his hand. She just stared at him with a frown. "You okay?"

"Do you think Daryl will be mad at me? For what I said?"

"About what you said? What do you mean?"

Ethan sighed. "I said to Negan that he wasn't my father.... but Daryl is the only father I know who has stepped up for me."

Alexis smiled, pulling him into a tight embrace. Her head was on top of his as she rubbed circles on his back. "I'm sure he won't hate you."

"I was just trying to help him. Give Negan less info."

Alexis smiled at the word choice. "Where did you learn that from?"

"Carl."

"Makes sense." Alexis said, pulling away and putting her hands on his face, making him look at her. "Ethan Johnson I promise that Daryl loves you." Her hands dropped to his shoulders. "I mean when he first met you all he asked me about at some points was if you were learning well. Before Negan, he would always ask me every night what you and I did that day, and if I wanted him to teach you things."

Ethan gasped. "You never told me that! I wanna do lessons with Daryl!"

"But what if I want to keep you all to myself?"  She joked while ruffling his hair. "Besides at the time he asked that was around the time where we met Negan, we never had the time." she breathed out. "But buddy, I can assure you that Daryl will understand."

"Promise?"

"I promise.... now, time for bed."

Carl walked into the room looking at the scene in front of him with curiosity. "What did I miss?" he asked, sitting on his bed and while looking at the two.

Alexis had a sense of deja vu as she remember back to when she first told them she was pregnant. It's not that she didn't want to tell them a second time, it was just not the right time.
She just stood with a chuckle. "Just talking about Daryl is all."

Carl frowned a bit. "You miss him?"

Alexis nodded. "Every second."

Carl stood back up, walking up to her and wrapping his arms around her. He's grown a lot taller, his head reaching her shoulder. Alexis immediately hugged him back. Ethan joined in, his own head reaching to the top of her stomach.

Tears built in her eyes as she realized just how much her boys have grown since the beginning.

"Okay." She breathed out, making the pull back. The older woman wiped her tears and let out a breath. "Thank you."                                                                                                                      she took a second before rubbing her hands together and hitting their shoulders. "Bed."
