—————————-Wally's POV:—————————-
"Hello?" She asked, looking me over with a look that said she was already done with the conversation.
I quickly snapped myself out of my thoughts and back to the conversation.
"Uh... hello, I'm Wally West. Your neighbor to the right" I looked over, motioning to my door. She didn't look, instead continuing to face me.
"Right. Well, hello Wally, I'm Percy Jackson. Now Wally, what do you want?" Her voice was on the line between vicious and sarcastic, confusing me greatly.
"Actually, I came over cause I was hearing some strange noises, if you don't mind me asking, what was that?" She seemed to pause, not saying anything before sighing.
"I'm sorry about that, my dog gets a bit excited." She grabbed a whistle from her pocket before blowing it. I didn't hear anything for a minute before suddenly I heard claws sliding against her floor as a dog came barrelling down the hall. It pounced on Percy, standing up on its hind legs while it's front paws rested on her hips.
The dog was completely black, it's long fur looked fluffy like a cloud. It's tongue stuck out as it's massive tail wagged back and forth, smacking the door which released a loud rhythmic thumping noise.
"Ms O'leary occasionally stays with me when my friend can't take care of her. Sorry" She placed her hand on the dog's head, rubbing lightly and I swear the dog smiled. (I know Ms O'leary is a massive dog, I imagine it to be like Chiron in that she can shrink to look like a normal dog instead of a giant one)
I felt a smile rise to my face as I looked at the dog. "Can I?" I asked, she let out a small huff before nodding.
"Go for it"
I leaned down, my smile widening. The dog bounded towards me, resting its front paws on my chest as I pet the adorable dog. I couldn't stop the chuckle that escaped me as the dog wagged its tail happily.
I looked back up to Percy to see her glare had softened, instead her lips tilted up in a sort of half smile. It looked really nice on her. She looked from the dog to me and her smile dropped back to a half-tried glare.
I stood up as the dog hopped off and went back into her apartment. I watched as it happily seemed to almost skip away.
"Well, now that, that is taken care of. It was nice meeting you Wally" She tried to close the door but I quickly grabbed it. Her eyes flared with unease momentarily before she relaxed again.
"Wait!"
She opened the door once again, leaning against the door frame. "Something else Mr. West?" Her voice was a bit more strained as she slowly closed the door, almost giving me a timer of sorts.
I nodded quickly "yeah, this friday I'm holding a party for the new family that moved in. I just wanted to let you know that you're invited. It's nothing fancy plus everyone's been wanting to meet you for a while, so it'll just be a calmer kinda night." She paused for a moment, her lips pursing slightly. I heard another thump from inside her apartment and I smiled at the thought of the fluffy dog from before. I watched as Percy's face seemed to change into an exasperated smile.
"Fine, what time is it?" I felt a large smile play on my lips as I watched her. She looked like she just wanted me gone but a new goal has begun. I was going to make this neighbor smile. A real smile, even if it was the last thing I did.
"6 pm. I'll see you there!" She just gave me one small nod before disappearing back into her home. I silently fist pumped the air before walking back to my apartment. In my book, this was considered a massive win. I had finally gotten to meet my hot neighbor *Cue outro music*
