-------Leo's POV:-------
Before I knew it we were hugging, my face buried in her shoulder as I held her tightly. She still smelled of the ocean, her grip just as tight as I remembered. I could help but sniffle as I desperately tried to keep back tears.
"Holy Hades, Percy, how- why-" She gave me a sad look, her smile shrinking ever so slightly.
"How about I explain at my house? You down for a trip?" She asked quietly. Looking to the side. I followed her vision to see a camera. I blinked a couple times before nodding quickly. Now that I found her there was no way she was leaving so soon.
She took in a deep breath before grabbing my shoulder. I felt myself disappear before suddenly we were in a dark room, the lights were out and I felt Percy's grip leave my shoulder. Fear that she was leaving again ran through me but then the lights turned on illuminating the area around us.
Her house was nice with fake plants and pictures of her and her mother littered everywhere. I quickly turned back to see Percy take off the ring, the white shimmering into focus and her eyes losing their purple hue, instead turning back into the sea green eyes I so desperately missed. It almost felt like a hole had been filled in my chest, seeing her was like seeing a ghost.
Then her scars started to appear, lighting up her skin as they danced into view. She sighed as she set down the ring on a table. She slipped out of the heels before walking over and sitting besides me on the couch.
She didn't look any different, her eyes still held that familiar warmth and she radiated confidence in every form. I was breathless.
"I missed you so much Leo, you have no idea" She said quietly, leaning in and pulling me into a tight hug. I held back just as tight, grabbing onto the back of her dress like she might dissolve out of my grip once more.
"gods Percy, where have you been?!" I asked, pulling her back quickly. She sighed, looking down before looking back up.
"I've hopped around, I've really only been here for a couple months." She said lightly, smiling to herself. "I didn't stay in New York after I left, I book it straight for some other state. I ended up in Colorado, I stayed there for a year before city hopping. I really didn't want anyone to find me." She said the last part quietly as she picked at her nails, looking down to avoid my gaze.
"And what? You became a villain?" I asked, everything still swirling around in my head.
"Not exactly. I'm a vigilante, I do bad for the sake of good, but I guess you could objectively say I'm evil." She said, shrugging slightly.
I narrowed my eyes. She still seemed the same. I looked again at her house, noticing that none of the photos included any demigods. I looked back to Percy to see her looking at me with a dejected look.
"I'm sorry I ran away. I've thought you were dead for so long and I finally took your advice and it just, the conditions weren't good for me-"
"Percy, I'm not mad." I said quickly, tears welling up in my eyes. All I've wanted for the past while was for Percy to come back, and now that she was I couldn't have her thinking I was mad at her. "It's just so overwhelming. Do you know how much people miss you?!" I asked. "I mean, gods, Jason was f****** devastated, even when I got there. Frank and Hazel refused to leave your tomb for a while, claiming they wanted to inform you on everything that you were missing. Nico was freaking out cause you wouldn't show up, I think he still tries to call you up!" She grimaced slightly.
"I've heard." She said quietly. "It's just, being missed and being appreciated are two different things." She looked up at me with a sort of gleam in her eyes.
I felt a small pang in my heart. gods this was trippy. "Does anyone even know you're alive??" I asked.
"Hestia and Hades. Aside from that no one knows I'm alive. Hades covers for me which is why Nico's rituals haven't worked." Suddenly that made sense. After a while I'd heard he'd gotten Bianca so it was strange that it didn't work once on Percy. Things started to come into focus here.
"Wait... so not even your mother knows?" She winced almost like I'd hit a touchy subject. She slowly shook her head.
"I've wanted to go back. But what if she doesn't want me? What if she's happy with Paul and me coming back would just be a pain for her." She said quickly, obviously this is something she'd been fighting with herself about for a long time.
"Percy, you haven't changed. This included your common trait of under-valuing yourself. Of course your mother wants you back! I met your mother once and even in that short 5 minute IM call I could tell she loved you dearly. Having you back would probably make her overwhelmingly happy."
Percy smiled and nodded slightly. "Yeah..." She took a deep breath before smiling. "So, whats been happening with you besides from coming back from the dead?" She said, smirking slightly.
I couldn't help but smile back "Oh you know, I built a super amazing phone that allows us to make calls without attracting monsters. By the way, you want one?" She smirked. Reaching up to the necklace. Suddenly in her hand appeared one of the phones, the screen lighting up to reveal...Wally??
"I have people who go in for me. I drop off kids from time to time. I've never been able to fully leave camp-half blood." She smiled down at the phone.
"Whoa whoa, why was Wally on the screen???" I asked, looking up at her in disbelief.
She smiled to herself, looking off to the side as her hand reached up to scratch the back of her neck. "Ha, well funny thing... He's my neighbor and we're kinnnndaaa dating" She smiled to herself but her eyes held a look of worry. I just sat there dumbfounded. How could I not have noticed, how coud no one have noticed.
'Really?!" I said loudly, not really caring about the tone of my voice. She merely chuckled in return before nodding.
"Yeah, we met before we found out each other's secret identity and well... I don't know. He's really sweet and honestly he's just overall amazing." She seemed to light up, her smile growing with every word as she looked at her phone screen.
I couldn't help but feel happy for her. A smile making it's way onto my face as well.
"How about you? Has the bad boy finally settled down?" She said smirking. I smiled as I nodded.
"I brought Calypso back, and well, we've been together since. She's really helpful in the work shop" I said, remembering all the amazing things she's done for me. Percy's smiled grew wider as she lightly punched my shoulder.
"Good on you man, doing the impossible!" She laughed lightly and I couldn't help but laugh with her. Though I'm sure it was a combination of all the good feelings that were wheeling up within me.
I was so happy to have Percy back.
