Lexi's POV

We spend the rest of the day sunbathing, eating good food, swimming and being cuddly silly.

I lie there like this on Theo's belly, gazing across the lake at the sky and enjoying the sunset.

"Do you want to walk back slowly?" Theo asks me.

"Sure, but only if you make dinner" I reply back playfully and smile at him.

"I'll do anything for you, my love. Whatever it takes to keep you with me." he says and gives me a kiss on the forehead.

I smile shyly.

And as I stand up and get dressed, I go over his words from a moment ago in my head.

They are so sweet but at the same time somehow frightening.

Like a sunny day with violent squalls.
So sweet with a salty core.

And yet I couldn't be happier.

I shouldn't always question everything so much, it certainly came across differently than it was meant to.

Finally dressed and dried, I help Theo clean up the rest of the picnic and put it in the basket.

"The white top was totally on purpose wasn't it?" he says wide-eyed, switching his gaze between my eyes and my breasts and grinning devilishly.

Of course the white top was on purpose. My wet pink bikini totally shows through.

"Who knows," I say and start laughing.

He comes closer and closer and whispers in my ear in a smoky voice : "Bad girl."

When he says it like that, I get goose bumps all over my body.

I act unimpressed and give him a kiss on the cheek and say with a smile : "Yours.", and start packing the rest.

I'm about to pick up the basket when Theo snatches it from my hand and says : "I'll do it, dear."

"You know, I'm not fragile. I could have carried it home." I tease him.

"No arguments. Come on, let's start walking. I want to be home before it's completely dark." he replies, lightly slapping my butt.

I just roll my eyes and start walking towards the hut.

We talk about what he is going to prepare for us to eat tonight. We agree on my favourite meal. Bolognese and a great wine to go with it.

Afterwards we want to laze on the couch for a while and watch a film. But I get him to leave the TV off and we grab a book.

I am really looking forward to this evening.

Just before the hut, I see someone standing there, but I can't see who it is from a distance.

I look up at Theo and ask: "Do you know who that is?"

"Oh shit, I completely forgot! I invited 2 friends over for a game night. Honey, I'm so sorry about that. But maybe we can include them in our evening somehow. What do you say? If you don't want to, I can send them away again." he answers full of remorse and scratches the back of his neck.

"No no, it's okay. It must be good to be in the company of friends. Who is it then?" I ask.

"Cassandra and Leo are their names. They're a couple too." he replies with a small smile.

"Great. I can't wait to meet them both." I say excitedly.
