Chapter 12
The last two weeks for Millie was very hard because everyone time she saw Ethan, she also saw Zoe next to him and it broke her every time they interacted because she knew that he could never be hers.
She had a gig tonight in a pub, the one Tyler suggested since he got some information about it and she agreed. This was her first real performance in front of so many people so she wanted her friends there. Everyone had arrived.
When she peeked from behind the curtains, she saw Zoe sitting with Ethan, dressed in jeans and a top with a jacket on top of it. She did look amazing and Ethan looked happy but she wanted to perform well so she looked at her friends who gave her thumbs up.
She went backstage and looked at herself in the mirror. She was dressed in a full sleeved black and white t-shirt with a turtle neck under a sleeveless black mini skater dress with ankle boots. Her hair was cut short now, till her collarbone and had an ombre of rose gold color and her hair looked amazing since it was naturally wavy and it was parted in between and set aside with pins.
Her makeup was very minimal and was barely there and she held her guitar, the one Ethan gave her and put it around her shoulder as her name was called out.
"Good evening everyone. I am Millie Preston and this is my first time here so I am very honored for this opportunity," Millie started out as she sat on the stool laid in the middle of the stage and set the microphone in front of her and everyone cheered for her.
"Today I am going to sing an original song I wrote about a while ago called 'Unrequited love' and as the name suggests this song is about someone who didn't feel the same way about me and doesn't know about it and is happy with someone else and I hope you guys enjoy this," she says and the boys including Grace except Zoe and Ethan knew this song was about Ethan and Zoe but it was their first time listening to it too so they were pretty excited.
She started playing her guitar in slow and melodious tunes and everyone went silent because it was a sad but beautiful tune to begin with.
"I've been waiting for you
On the other side of the world.
But you've come home with a girl,
A girl more than I can ever be.
Then maybe I think that
You were not meant to be with me.
But oh darling, every time I think of it
It kills me, slowly.
I've been pinned with this unrequited love.
The love you never felt for me.
Oh I- I see the way you look at her
It's the same way I look at you.
When you wake up in the morning
Is she by your side?
Do you think about me?
Do you know what I feel for you?
You want her, you need her
And I, I'm not her.
But what about all the times
I was there for you?
What about all the times
I dressed up for you?
I always told myself
To never love a man who doesn't love you.
But look at you darling,
