Chapter 25
"Wait, why do you both look so perfect?" Grace asks looking at Millie dressed up as Blair Waldof and Ethan dressed as Chuck Bass. They really did look good together. They both smiled at each other.
"Because we are Blair Waldof and Chuck Bass," Millie says and Ethan laughs. Thea stayed back home because she was 8 months pregnant, so she decided to stay back home but she insisted that Alex go with them.
Grace and Daniel were the smurfs, June and Henry were Anna and Kristoff from 'Frozen', Alexis and Kate were the devil and the angel and Alex was the Pizza slice.
"Let's go," Alex says and they all go down stairs and sit in two cars and drive to the location. This was a huge party, compared to the others they have been in.
"Look, finally there are women here," Millie says looking at Ethan and they both burst out laughing. They go in, interact with the people Ethan knew and got some drinks.
A girl poked on her leg so Millie turned around but then looked down at a little girl who was looking at them dressed as Maleficent. She looked adorable with her long black cape and black horn with red lipstick.
"Are you Blair Waldof?" she asks and Millie smiles.
"Yes. And this is Chuck Bass," she says pulling Ethan and the girls eyes grew wild.
"And aren't you Maleficent?" she asks and the young girl nods very happily.
"What's your name? I'm Millie and this is Ethan," she says smiling.
"I'm Heather," she says and Millie fell in love with her.
"Heather!" someone says calling out for her and she turns around to find a man dressed as Divial walking towards them and Millie recognized him at once.
"David!" she says and he too recognizing her gave her a big hug.
"It's so nice to see you Millie," he says and she smiles.
"I would say the same," she says.
"You look exceptional dressed as Divial," she says and David laughs.
"I did it all for my little Heather," he says booping Heather's nose.
"Granda, I'm not little. I'm big," she says puffing her cheeks and everyone laughs.
"David, this is Ethan and Ethan this is David," she says introducing the both of them to each other for the first time.
"Nice to meet you Ethan," he says and Ethan says the same thing back.
"So what do you do Ethan?" David asks.
"I'm a Quantum Physicist," he says and David's face lights up.
"Really?" he asks and Millie nods.
"He's really smart David. Trust me," she says and Ethan blushes.
"No, she's just exaggerating it," he says and Millie stares at him.
"Don't listen to him David. He doesn't understand how smart he is. He is the most intelligent person I've ever seen," she says and Ethan smiles.
"Let me tell you one thing Ethan, this woman right here is one of the most honest people I've ever met. So if she says something, you've got to believe it," he says and he laughs with Ethan. They chat about their work for a while as Heather and Millie talk. They all seemed to be getting along very well.
"I have been following your work for quite a while and I have to say, I'm quite impressed with all of your work," he says and Ethan smiles. Millie looks up and smiles proudly at Ethan.
"So Ethan, I've heard great things about you and I saw it for myself just how smart and wonderful you are. My company needs a senior Quantum consultant and I think you'll be perfect for this job," he says and Ethan's eyes go wild because this was a big deal.
"Really?" he asks and David nods, smiling widely.
"Oh, that is huge. Wow," Ethan says trying to find words to tell him.
"Listen, you don't have to give me your answer right now. Take some time and think about it," he says and Ethan smiles.
"Yes," he says.
"Are you accepting my offer?" David asks and Ethan nods.
"That is wonderful news Ethan," he says shaking hands with him and then pulled him into a hug.
"Thank you so much," Ethan says and David smiles.
"Don't thank me. Thank this young woman right here," he says looking at Millie.
"She is the reason I came across your work and achievements," he says and Ethan smiled at Millie.
"I'll see you on Monday on your first day Ethan," he says and Ethan nods. They shake their hands once more.
"Good night Heather and take care David," Millie says giving them both a hug.
"Granda, can Millie come to our house? I really like her," Heather says and David smiles.
"Of course. You have to come home Millie. Bring Ethan too," he says and Millie smiles and nods but also thought about how David never invited Jaden to his house despite knowing him for a year but just knowing Ethan for a day, he was already inviting them.
"Of course. We will be there," Millie says looking at Ethan and he nods.
"Thank you once again David," she says and David brushes it away. They both turn to leave and Millie looks at Ethan.
"Congratulations Love," she says and he gave her a big hug.
"Thank you Millie," he says and she smiles, hugging him back.
"No, all of this happened because of you and your smart brain," she says and he laughs.
"Come on. Let's go share this wonderful news with everyone at home," Millie says and Ethan nods. He slips his arm around her shoulder as she slips her arms around his waist. They walk back to their apartment before briefly stopping to get some champagne as everyone had already gone home earlier.
"Ethan has something amazing to tell you all," Millie says entering her apartment and sees everyone there.
"I got a job offer from David Hugh as a Senior Quantum consultant at his company!" he says and everyone cheers for him and gave him a big hug.
"What's happening here?" Jaden asks entering Millie's apartment.
"Ethan got a job offer as a Senior Quantum consultant in David Hugh's company because of Millie!" Daniel says and Millie laughs and says that it's all because of Ethan and not her.
Jaden was there too and he didn't like it. He didn't like the fact that just like him, Ethan got a job from David Hugh because of Millie.
"This is for Ethan, a man who is just so wonderful and so deserving of his new job. Love, we are so proud of you and your achievements and we all love you so much. To Ethan!" Millie says lifting up her glass for Ethan and everyone repeats after her.
Jaden just stared at her because she was calling Ethan 'Love' and never him. He didn't understand the fact that Millie did so because her intentions were pure for Ethan and nothing else but he hated it.
As everyone celebrated for Ethan's success, Jaden sulked at the end like a jealous kid.
Millie walked up to him and looked up at him. She raised her eyebrows, asking him what was the reason he was so sad and he just shook his head. He pulled her closer to him by slipping his arm around her waist and she smiled.
She had forgiven him after he repeatedly apologized to her and her friends.
Ethan turned to look at them and Jaden noticed Ethan looking at them so he took the opportunity to kiss Millie, to make him jealous and sad and that seemed to have worked since Ethan looked away hurt.
