Chapter 30

"So are you ready?" Grace asks and Millie nods, standing up.

"You look so beautiful," she says and Millie laughs looking at herself in the mirror.

She was dressed in a white off-the-shoulder sheath wedding dress with an open back and a sheer tulle bow-back detail which was like a train of a veil. Her hair was parted down the middle and left open with some flower crystal pieces holding it back. She had huge earrings to go with it. Her makeup was kept very natural, just like it was every day.

She held her flower bouquet and walked out of the room, to their Malibu beach house's backyard, where everyone was gathered. The bride entry song was played and everyone stood up.

Millie smiled as she walked down the altar, looking at Ethan. Ethan was smiling. He was overwhelmed seeing Millie, looking so effortlessly beautiful. She looked more beautiful than he had pictured her walking down the aisle since the moment he fell for her. He was overwhelmed and had tears in his eyes.

"I thought you said you'll look simple," he says and she laughs placing a hand on his chest. Ethan was smiling so much that he couldn't feel his cheeks hurt.

"Please be seated," Daniel, who was the minister for their wedding, says. The bridesmaids and groomsmen took their places behind the bride and the groom, smiling.

"Welcome everyone. Today we are gathered here for the union of Millie and Ethan. I'm not going to be religious but let me tell you that people are brought together for a reason. And Millie and Ethan were brought together to make this world a better place and to spread love," he says and Millie smiles at him.

"Millie, do you have your vows?" he asks and Millie nods as she held Ethan's hand.

"Ethan, what can I tell you that I haven't already told you? You know just how much I love you and I know that you are the one for me. You make me a better person. You are the dream man I always dreamed of having ever since I was a little girl. You are someone who's extremely smart, handsome, caring, loving and kind," she says and he smiles.

"We made so many mistakes-, I made so many mistakes trying to avoid our destiny. But that didn't work because I'm telling my vows and we'll be married soon. And all those nights spent crying, all those times I wished I could kiss you, just once, just touch your hand seems useless because you are now mine and I am yours," she says and he wipes his tears.

"I just want to promise you that I'll try my best to not get angry or stay grumpy," she says and he laughs.

"I promise to support you and your dreams, to take care of you, of us and I promise to love you till the end of time because you and I are meant to be," she says ending her speech.

"Ethan?" Daniel says.

"Millie, as I'm standing here in front of you, I still can't fathom that you are marrying me. And let me tell you that once we've done this, there's no backsies or going back," he says and everyone laughs.

"As you walked down the aisle, I was overwhelmed by you. You left me speechless, just like every other time, every other day. I've waited my whole life for you and I can't wait to spend the rest of our lives together. When I saw you, moving into your apartment 7 years ago, I knew that we would end up together and I was right. So I'll promise to you Millie, I'll be the best man that I can be for you. No words can describe how much I love you, so instead I'll spend the rest of my life showing it to you because you and I are meant to be. You and I are worth it all," he says and Millie smiles with tears in her eyes, just like everyone else in the room.

They exchanged their rings.

"Do you Amelia Preston take Ethan Carter as your lawfully wedded husband, in sickness and in health, till death does you apart?" Daniel asks.

"I do," Millie says smiling.

"Do you Ethan Carter take Amelia Preston as your lawfully wedded wife in sickness and in health till death does you apart?" he asks.

"I do," Ethan says beaming.

"Then with the power vested in me, I pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss," Daniel says and as everyone cheers Millie and Ethan kissed, sealing their marriage.

"For the very first time, Mr. and Mrs. Carter!" Daniel says as the pair walk back down the aisle, Millie with the flowers in her hand as everyone cheers.

They went to the side where the place was set for reception. Even though they could have used the beach, Millie and Ethan didn't want their wedding to become a beach wedding. They wanted it to be very simple and elegant with close friends and family.

Everyone sat around, underneath the lights as Millie and Ethan came to the front, hand in hand. A slow song was played and they had their first dance.

"You looked so handsome," Millie says and Ethan smiles kissing her.

"You looked like a goddess," he says as she places her head on his chest and they say to the music. They sat back down as it was time for dinner.

Ethan got up and grabbed a microphone and a guitar.

"Millie, this is for you," he says as he sings one of her favorite songs and plays the guitar. Millie had thought him a little bit of how to play the guitar during the time that they were together. As he finished, everyone cheered for him and Millie kissed him.

"You know love, as much as I love you and enjoy your singing, don't do that again," she says and he bursts out laughing. She laughs too as he kisses her.

After having dinner, music was played and everyone jumped up on their feet and danced. Katie was the one jumping up and down the most. She was almost 3 years now.

Both Alex and Thea and Henry and June had gotten married, before Millie and Ethan did, so she didn't have to throw her bouquet. Everyone who came to her wedding were already married, so she was happy that she could keep it.

Millie looked up at her husband and a tear falls down her cheek. She had cried at his previous wedding too, but this time, it was different.

She wasn't crying because she couldn't have him.

She was crying because she had everything she ever wanted. She was crying because she got what she was crying about the last time and so many nights and days that followed. She had gotten the love of her life.
