10 months before the award ceremony
"Hey, Y/N, wait up!"
The loud shout, sounding through the huge lobby with the grey marble floor, huge mirrored window panes, and the enormous HYBE neon sign on one wall, startled you a little bit. Quickly you let your eyes wander over the few employees currently walking past you, trying to find the source of the voice. After some moments your lips curled up in a gentle smile, as you noticed someone quickly approaching you, wearing a , a white shirt, ripped denim, and a pair of round glasses. In his hand, he had a coffee cup and on his shoulder was dangling a sand-colored bag.
"Oh hey, Hobi." Your eyes beamed as you waited for him to catch up to you. His long, red hair peeked out under the cap he was wearing and his lips were formed into his beautiful heart-shaped smile.
"Sunshine, it is good to see you." He instantly pulled you into a hug, balancing his coffee like a true expert. "What have you been up to since yesterday? I don't think we saw each other in the kitchen this morning."
"You don't think so?" With a grin you tilted your head back, your eyes glowing amused.
"Oh, I am not a morning person and you know that..." He groaned. "And sometimes I just don't register anything before I had the first coffee."
"True." You laughed brightly, your hand placed over your mouth and your cheeks showing off your dimples. "Like the one time, you accidentally grabbed Kookies butt, after you had a particularly long night going out to party with Jimin?"
He groaned quietly, a blush showing off on his face. "Don't remind me." With a sigh, he turned around and pointed to the elevator. "Where are you headed anyway?"
"Hehe..." You giggled. "Changing the topic?" With a grin, you saw him shake his head furiously and started to approach the elevator doors. You followed him close behind. "Well, but to answer your question, I was just on my way to the game design department. I had some suggestions for the storyline of the video game they are currently developing."
"Ah, the fantasy one?" He pushed the button of the elevator and then leaned on the wall next to it, looking at you with a smile.
"Yeah." You leaned your back on the wall across from him, returning his look. "I wanted them to incorporate some elements from your upcoming comeback concept. I liked the idea Jimin and I came up with."
His eyes gleamed up and he nodded excitedly. "Oh yes! I am so ready for the shoot tomorrow. And I have seen my costume. It is really pretty!"
"Jae outdid himself, right?" With a smile, you thought back to the day you had briefed him about the new concept. He and his team were absolutely thrilled, showering you with ideas and first sketches. "Especially the dark purple blazer and those torn, sequined green dress pants. You looked really good in the first fitting."
The idea for the concept came to you and Jimin, when you had one of your infamous Disney movie nights in the dorm. You just watched the 'little mermaid' movie and somehow found yourself discussing intensely about the problematic depiction of gender stereotyping in it. Ariel, literally giving up her voice, only for the possibility of getting the man and prince Eric almost marrying the sexy sea witch, because of ... duh, marriage, and duh, sexy woman. So after some moments, there was this idea for the upcoming album. The boys, dressed as very androgynous versions of classical princesses, but with a modern and dark twist. Them creating those very liberated, complex characters, living in a dystopian fairy tale world and fighting for love, freedom, and friendship. The lyrics and songs fit in the narrative and the storytelling department was thrilled. They added the idea of a video game, along with an animated series and a mobile game. And they even managed to get cooperation with Disney, supporting the concept and providing some of their artists for the series.
