Tanjiro's First Mission

"Tanjiro Kamado, prepare yourself well for this task! This is your first assignment... as a Demon Slayer!"

-Tanjiro's POV-
After the crow informs me of my first mission, I prepare my Demon slayer uniform and start putting it on. After putting on my haori, Mr. Urokodaki asked, "Finished changing?" "Yes," I answered. Mr. Urokodaki nods.
"Tanjiro... Now that you're starting as a Demon Slayer, I'd like you to explain a few things to you," Mr. Urokodaki spoke. "Right," I said. "That Demon Slayer Corps uniform you're wearing right now... it's made of a special fabric. It's quite breathable, yet it repels moisture and won't burn easily. A low-level demon's claws and fangs wouldn't be able to tear that uniform." He informs. I look at my uniform and say, "It's that strong?" "Also, That Nichirin Sword of yours... The colour varies from owner to owner, and each hue has unique characteristics. But since not many end up with black blades, little is known about them. So little that-" he says as I interrupted him. "So little is known that... What, Mr. Urokodaki?" I interrupted him. "Since so little is known about them, black blades are said to be wielded by swordsmen who'll never go far." He finished. "I don't know how I'll do in the Demon Slayer Corps," I say as I turn to Nezuko. "but I'm going to turn Nezuko back into a human no matter what." I finished. "Yes, you're right. I have faith that you're going to make that happen." Mr. Urokodaki said. "Right." "One more thing. Take this. It's a box for you to carry your sister during the day. Built out of an extremely light wood called 'Kirikumo Cedar'. I coated it with rock lacquer to harden its exterior so that it's even more durable." He said. "Thank you very much!" I say. I picked the box up and say, "It's so light! It's light, Mr. Urokodaki!" I put the box in front of Nezuko, "Nezuko! Get inside this, will you? Can you do it?" I asked. She started squirming around under the futon. She pauses and then gets into the box. I look into the box and softly say, "Nezuko, from now on, we're always going to be together, OK?" I closed the box.
"All right, I'll be going now," I said to Mr. Urokodaki. He walks up to me and said, "Hold on. Do you mind?" He buttoned up the loose parts in the collar of my uniform, and pats my shoulders. We both nodded. I start walking to my next mission.
As I walk down the path to my next mission, I asked, "Nezuko, are you all right? Nezuko?" I thought about the time Mr. Urokodaki told me about Nezuko sleeping to recover her strength. "Nezuko... you get lots of rest," I whispered.

-Time Skip-

I walk over a bridge and look down at the water. "Could this be the town to the northwest?" I ask myself as I walked on. As I walk around the town, I notice this town looks busy today. I see a boy who looks beaten and ruffed up. I overhear three other people talking about how he was close to a victim who disappeared. I am now curious about what that boy has to say. "Kazumi-san!" I get his attention. He turns to look at me. "If you don't mind, I'd like to hear your story. Is that all right?" I asked. "Huh?" He says.
He took me to where the girl by the name of 'Satoko' vanished. "This is where Satoko-san has vanished. You may not believe me," He explains. "I do believe you! I believe you, all right!" I say.

-3rd Person POV-
Tanjiro turns around and gets onto the ground and sniffs. Kazumi is baffled by what is happening in front of him. "There's still a faint trace of demon scent... but it's uneven, so to speak. There's something strange about this," I speak to myself. "Who is this kid anyway?" Kazumi asks himself as he remembers how Satoko's parents reacted to her disappearance.
Both Tanjiro and Kazumi walk around the town. Tanjiro is sniffing around the place as Kazumi follows. As Tanjiro sniffs the ground, he gets stares at the townsfolk.

It is now the evening as Tanjiro and Kazumi walk around. "I want you to believe me. She did vanish," Kazumi said. "I believe you. After all, that's why I'm here," Tanjiro answered.
Now it reaches night as Tanjiro and Kazumi are still investigating. "You're going to keep going?" Kazumi asks. "Yes," Tanjiro answered. "Look how late it's gotten. I'm flattered that you're so concerned for me, but shouldn't you pick up again tomorrow and get some rest?" Kazumi adds as Tanjiro crouches to the ground. "They're active during the night. So, I can't afford to rest. I've detected a new scent in this area. It's gotta be somewhere nearby," Tanjiro says. Kazumi crouches while saying, "By them... don't tell me you're... are you..."
A couple of seconds pass as Tanjiro both senses and gains its scent. He dashes toward the direction of the scent. "What's gotten into you all of a sudden?" Kazumi asked. Tanjiro was out of sight. "Wh- So fast! Where did he go?" Kazumi asked himself. "The scent just got stronger! The demon's at large!" Tanjiro yells as he jumps to a roof. Kazumi still looking for Tanjiro in the last direction he's seen him. "He's gone. I can't find him. Where did he go? The stories about the demons and the demon hunters... are they true after all?" Kazumi asks himself again. Tanjiro lands on the ground and comes to a stop. He looks left and right, only to see no demons. "This is it. They're here right now!" Tanjiro says to himself. He pulls out his sword. "Two scents. A demon and a female human!" As he points the blade around, he adds, "they're nowhere to be seen. But..." he points the blade to the ground, careful not to cut where the female scent is. "The spot where the scent is strongest... is right here!" He mentally yells. As he stabs the ground, a black puddle shows up revealing a flowery kimono. On instinct l, he instantly grabs the kimono and jumps. He grabbed the female human and carried her to safety, while she was unconscious. A demon hand was seen where the kimono was ripped. It rose to reveal a demon. "A demon with special powers? This may be fun" He thought in his mind with a smirk.

-A Little Secret-
Tanjiro trained with Nezuko during the 15 days of waiting. He also taught her some of his martial arts while he waited for his Nichirin Katana to arrive.
