The Female Demon (2) said, "We were all so scared of the Demon Slayers and sought companionship. It's not like we wanted to take part in this baffling 'Pretend Family' game. But those who fail to go along with Rui's demands and orders get carved up or have their intellect taken from them or get strung up, exposed to sunlight. I've had enough of this." The Female Demon (1) said, "I'm going to pretend I never heard you say that-" The second Female Demon interrupted her, "I know you're not a fool. Unlike all the others. Let's run away together. I wouldn't say this to anyone but you. You're the one person I truly think of as my younger sister. The second demon reaches her hand out while the first Female Demon takes it. They both run down a path as they pant. The second Female Demon said, "Tomorrow, Rui will be summoned by the Master and head down the mountain. That's our chance to escape." As they continue running, Rui is deeper down the part waiting for the two. The second Female Demon gasps while to first Female Demon walks to Rui. The first Female Demon stood beside him while the second Female demon stood there.

-Small Time Skip-
The second Female Demon was strung up and left to hang on the house's roof to be burned by the sun. She was bloody and beaten. Rui said, "How disappointing." He walked away while the first Female Demon followed behind. The sun began to peer over the horizon. The strung-up Female Demon started to tear up as it was burned away. She was set ablaze as she screams in her final moments.

-Real-World-
The Female demon thought, "They were all fools but I'm not like them. Even so, I messed up!"

-Female Demon's Memory-
The Female Demon approaches Rui while saying, "Rui! Kaa-san's been killed! And our nii-san, too! What should we do? The Demon Slayers aren't far behind. Listen... Sh-Shouldn't we make a run for it?" While asking, her face reverted to its normal state while Rui looked back at her. She said, "Don't..." She was then cut and she screamed. Rui said, "You know, don't you? I really hate it when your face reverts." Tanjiro watches the scene in pity. Rui asked him, "What are you looking at? This isn't some show, you know?"

-Present-
The Female Demon runs while thinking, "I only got my face slashed, so I got off easy!" While running, she notices a Demon Slayer ahead of her. The Demon Slayer, who appeared to be Murata, said, "A demon!" The Female Demon sent long threads toward Murata as Murata was terrified. He was then wrapped inside the ball as he asked, "What the..." He began to poke the threads with his sword while the Female Demon said, "It's no use. You'll never cut through them. You see, my balls of yarn may feel soft, but it's extremely durable." The ball of yarn started to fill up with liquid as Murata screamed. The Female Demon Sister explained, "First, the solvent will melt those clothes out of the way. And then, it'll be your turn. You'll be reduced to mush in no time, and then you'll be my meal." While explaining, Shinobu popped in and said, "Oh! How amazing! Do you spin those threads from the palms of your hands?" The Female Sister Demon was scared while Shinobu greeted her, "Good evening. The moon is quite lovely tonight, isn't it?" The Female Spider Demon pounced back she launched yarn at Shinobu, who dodges the yarn with ease. Shinobi bicycle kicks the Female Demon to the ground. She says, "I can see you have no intention of getting along with me." The Spider Sister pleaded, "W-W-Wait! Please! I'm being forced to do this! If I defy him, I'll be slashed to pieces!" Shinobu gasps and says, "Is that really true? That does sound tragic! I'll help you! Let's be friends!" The Female Demon asked, "Y-You'll help me?" Shinobu says, "Yes! But for us to be friends, I must ask you a few questions. My sweet child, how many people have you killed?" The Female Demon lied, "Five. But I was ordered to! I had no choice!" Shinobi says, "There's no need to lie about it. Because I already know. How you cocooned up one of our men..." During her explanation, Murata yelled, "Help me! Somebody!" Shinobi finished, "...was most impressive. You've eaten at least 80 humans, haven't you?" The Female Demon denied, "Of course not. I haven't eaten that many. I've only killed five." Shinobu says, "But I came here from the west, you know. The west, my dear. On the west side of the mountain, I saw hordes of cocoons hanging from the trees. The human captives inside had been liquefied. All massacred. I counted at least Fourteen cocoons in that spot alone. Fourteen humans. All dead. It's not that I'm angry. I'm only trying to confirm the accurate toll." The Female Demon asked, "What good will it do you to confirm that?" Shinobu answered, "You'll receive the punishment you deserve and be reborn!" The Female Demon asked again, "Punishment?" Shinobu answered, "That way, you and I can become friends. If you go u punished after having taken all those lives, your victims will never receive justice." Shinobu grabs her eyelids while she gasps. Shinobu says, "I could gouge out your eyeballs... or cut open your stomach and pull out your guts. I shall punish you for every person you've killed. And after you've suffered through all of the pain and agony, your sins will be forgiven. Let's both give it our all! Don't worry! Since you're a demon, my dear, surely it won't kill you and neither will there be any lingering effects!" The Female Demon screams, "Who do you think you're kidding? Die, you foul woman!" She pushes Shinobu into the air while using her yarn to push herself away. The Female demon gets up while Shinobu lands gracefully while their backs are turned from each other. Shinobu quietly says, "I can see that we'll never be friends. What a pity." She grabs her katana while the Female Demon turns around to see that she's not there anymore. Shinobu jumped into the air and landed down on the Female Demon. She whips out her sword and stabs the Demon many times. From the Female Demon's perspective, all she saw was Shinobu dropping, then butterflies. A butterfly flew and hovered in front of her as she reached out for it. It landed on her finger and turned blood red, then her body started to pour out blood without her noticing it. From Shinobu's perspective, she just stabbed the Demon many times and landed on the ground. She used,

Insect Breathing, Butterfly Dance... Caprice.

The Female Demon reached for her neck as it was still intact. She looked back and thought, "My head... hasn't been cut off! That's the sword she's using? I see. Her body's too small, and she has no arm strength, so she can't behead me. I can win this!" The Female Demon extended her arm as she began to feel the effects of the poison. Her veins began to bulge as yellow zigzags appears all over her body. She groans as she began to stagger and gag. She screams in pain as her heartbeat began to slow down, finally killing her. Shinobu said, "You mustn't think your sage just because you haven't been beheaded. Because there are those like me who use poison." She began to wave her sword as she introduces herself. "Demon Slayer Corps, Insect Hashira, Shinobu Kocho. I may be the only one among the Hashira unable to decapitate demons, but I've created a poison lethal to demons. That's quite impressive, isn't it? Ah! pardon me! You're dead, so you can't hear me, can you? My bad!"
Shinobu then cuts the ball of yarn open, freeing Murata from it. He comes out exposed, while Shinobu asks, "Are you all right?" Murata answered, "*cough* Just barely! What happened to the demon?"
Shinobu and Murata look at the dead Female Demon as Murata asks, "Shouldn't you finish it off?" Shinobu answered, "I killed her with wisteria poison. She's already dead, so we can leave her to rot. I'm an expert in pharmaceutics! Your clothes were dissolved, but your body is more or less unscathed! I'm so glad!" Murata hides his parts and walks away, embarrassed. Shinobu looks up and says, "Now then, as for the whereabouts of the demon that forced this girl to do his bidding... Did Tomioka-san beat me to it, then?"

-With Tanjiro-
Tanjiro walked toward Nezuko as he quietly says, "Nezuko..." In the background, Giyu beheads Rui as Rui thought, "I'll kill them! I'll kill them! I'll kill those siblings no matter what! Siblings!"

-Rui's Mind-
The Mother Demon asks, "What is it that you want to do, Rui? What do you mean by 'family'?" Rui answered, "I don't know. Because I have no memories of when I was human." The Mother Demon says, "Is that what you made us pretend to be your family?" Rui said, "I thought that if I could feel a family bond, my memories would come back. The bond of a real family..." Tanjiro kneeled beside Nezuko and picked her up to hug her. Rui added, "That's right. I..."

-Real-World-
Tanjiro hugged Nezuko and said, "Nezuko!"
