"Carry your sister and follow me'
-Tanjiro's POV-
Me and Mr. Urokodaki are running towards his house, I'm glad I could keep up with him easily though, I probably would've lost him if I wasn't this strong. "He's so fast, just how old is he anyway? And, like earlier, I'm not hearing any footsteps at all! Nezuko, I know it must be jarring, but hang on! Well, enduring is all that you've ever known," I say to myself as I reminisce at a memory of Nezuko. "I swear I'll turn you back into a human! I swear I'll buy you a beautiful kimono someday! Everything that I couldn't do for others... I'll do it for you!"-Time skip to when they reach Urokodaki's house-
-Tanjiro's POV-
When we reached Mr. Urokodaki's, I asked him, "Have I passed that test?" He answers while taking off his white scarf, "The test starts now. We're going to climb the mountain." I sigh, "Great, more training." I said.
A little later, I place Nezuko down to sleep. Mr. Urokodaki tells me, "I'll make sure to take care of your sister for you." I respond, "Thank you."
Mr. Urokodaki leads me up the mountain, "I wonder how Mr. Urokodaki will train me to become a demon slayer." I mentally speak. "Now, from here, go back down to the house at the foot of the mountain. This time, I'm not going to wait until daybreak!" He instructs, while he somehow disappears. "Is that all? I see. He thinks I might get lost in this thick fog. I just have to get back until daybreak, right? That's easy! I have a sharp nose and sharp senses! No way I could get lost. I've already memorized Mr. Urokodaki's scent!" I tell myself. I start running down the mountain. I barely trip on a rope, as I'm running. I'm just barely grazed by rocks that are thrown toward me. "Rocks?" I say. I start running again, but I fell into a covered pit. "I get it now. So, there are traps all around!" As I'm getting up, my hand lands on a rope that triggers another trap. I am cautious of what it was until I feel a slight tingle on my back. I jump to my left, just barely being grazed by a log. "So, if I keep triggering all the traps, I can treat this as if it was training to test my reflexes. Alright, but I just got to make it back in time to Mr. Urokodaki's house. The air feels thin here, but it's still easy to breathe," I speak to myself. I start running down the mountain sniffing the air to pinpoint the traps. As I'm running, I dodge three logs that are thrown at me. "Alright! I've forgotten how good it feels to train like this. These traps were set by human hands, and have a slightly different smell after al-" I was cut off as I was thrown up into the air and slammed down by long bamboo sticks. "Ow, ow, ow, that hurt. I got to watch out for these kinds of traps from now on," I thought.-Time skip-
-Urokodaki's POV-
As I set a blanket over Nezuko, I look towards the window. Tanjiro opens the door looking more unscathed than I initially thought. He said, "I have returned, with a scent of satisfaction.-Brief memory of Urokodaki's-
I make my way outside as a crow makes its way to me. It lands on my arm as I hold it out. I read the paper attached to its leg and sent the crow on its way. The paper reads, "Forgive my abruptness, Sakonji Urokodaki-Dono. I'm sending a boy your way who wants to become a Demon Slayer swordsman. He was brave enough to attack me head-on, but to my surprise, he was rather strong for a boy his age. His family was also slaughtered by a demon, and the surviving younger sister has become one, but I have determined that she will not attack humans. I can sense something different about the two, especially the boy. Like yourself, the boy seems to have a keen sense of smell. Perhaps, he'll find a way to break through and become your heir apparent. I am asking you to train him. I realize that this is a self-serving request, but please forgive me. I hope that you will take good care of yourself in your endeavours. Yours truly, Giyu Tomioka." I put the paper inside my house, and grab my white scarf. I put it on and make my way toward the boy.-Back to the present (Urokodaki's POV)-
"Tanjiro," I say. "Hm?" He answered. "I accept you as my student," I told him. "Alright!" He said with a smile. "Head to bed, training starts tomorrow," I add.Chapter 5: End.
I hope you enjoyed this chapter or all the coming chapters.
-A little secret-
Instead of trying to avoid all the traps, Tanjiro tested his reflexes by setting off all the traps. That's why he got back so late, just like in the original story.819 words (disregarding everything after 'Chapter 5: End.')
