Gyokko and Muichiro charged at each other as Gyokko yells, "Behold my magnificence when I get serious!" Gyokko used,

"Blood Demon Art: Killer Fish Scales!"

Gyokko sent many slashes and attacks that hit the trees behind Muichiro, snapping them. Muichiro only dodged the attacks while Gyokko hopped into the air and asked, "How do you like my moves? They defy the laws of nature! Thanks to my scales, I have complete freedom of movement. It's impossible to predict! I love contradicting the laws of nature!" Muichiro and Gyokko again clashed as Gyokko asks, "What kind of food shall I make of you? I'll rip off that ugly head of yours and replace it with a beautiful fish head!" Muichiro was too busy repelling Gyokko's attacks with Gyokko hopping over behind him and thought aloud, "This is your end!" Muichiro glances behind him and used,

"Mist Breathing, Seventh Form: Obscuring Clouds!"

Gyokko landed a direct hit on Muichiro's neck. Well, that's what he thought. Muichiro's body disappeared with mist taking over and blowing away. He thought, "He disa- No... Over there! I see him" Gyokko turns around and Muichiro stood beside a tree, not facing him. Gyokko punched him but find out he missed again. Muichiro was walking to another tree as he thought, "Hyo Hyo! Too late!" Just like both times before, Gyokko struck the air. The mist started to form all around him while he thought, "What? How did he disappear? What's going on? Where did he go? It's as if... As if... He's shrouded... In mist!" Muichiro's body formed in the mist. Gyokko was again too late to strike his body. He yells, "Hey, you... You." Muichiro forms beside Gyokko and asks, "Did you think you were the only one who wasn't serious before?" Muichiro delivered a swift slash to Gyokko's neck, decapitating him. Blood spurt out as Gyokko's head fell to the ground with Muichiro standing a few inches behind Gyokko's body. Gyokko thought, "Huh? What? Everything's upside-down. What's happening? My senses are gone! That brat finally showed himself! I have to finish this fast and report to Muzan." Muichiro turns around and says, "This is the end. Goodbye. You don't ever need to be reborn." Gyokko's head bounced and rolled to a stop. He thought in absolute shock and anger, "He c-cut off my head?! He cut off my head! He cut off my head! He cut off my heeeaaad! No! Impossible! I don't believe it! What an incredible turn of events! Did I lose? To a child?! Me?! Wonderful me?!" Gyokko then began to yell out, "Arrrgh! This shouldn't be! I! Gyokko! Losing his head! To a mere human! What a horrible lower form of life! I am worth a hundred of you! I am a chosen-A superb being! But you're weak! You're dying from the moment you're born! With my godly hands, I took your ridiculous and worthless lives... And turned them into sublime art! You ungrateful maggots!" Muichiro then shut Gyokko up by slashing his head a few times before saying, "That's enough. Just go to hell already."

Zenitsu finds it sad that how Shinobu and Kanao have this feeling of attraction toward Tanjiro, while Tanjiro does not harbor any of the same feelings toward any of the two.
