"I got into an offensive position and threw my sword toward the boulder."

(A/N: Pretend Tanjiro doesn't have long hair, but Goku's spiky hair.)

-Tanjiro's POV-
I found out that I was able to slice the boulder in half. Mr. Urokodaki, funny enough, came back after leaving. Mr. Urokodaki, I said. "To be honest, I had no intention of sending you to Final Selection. I didn't want to see another child die. But seeing how you are and your remarkable strength, I changed my mind about you. Well done! Tanjiro, you're a remarkable child!" He stated. I started tearing up after the praise. "I'm pretty sure I don't have to tell you this but make sure you come back alive from Final Selection. Your sister and I will be waiting for you here." He told me.

-Time Skip-

Mr. Urokodaki baked up a lot of food. "What's the occasion? There's so much," I asked. Mr. Urokodaki answered, "You've completed all your training, so we're celebrating. Don't be shy, eat up." He hands me a bowl. I take the bowl and say, "Thank you very much!" I started eating and finished the bowl in seconds.

-Urokodaki's POV (very brief)-
I watch Tanjiro eat and mentally say, "Tanjiro, there's nothing more I can do for you. From here on out, you'll be going through such hardship and strife. Your training will see nothing in comparison. So, for now, at least, you should care well without a care in the world." But I am surprised to see how much he ate in just 3 seconds. I pass him more bowls.

-Tanjiro's POV-
I thanked Mr. Urokodaki for the food he cooked. I had about 15 bowls while he had 2. But after I finished the bowls of hot pot, I told Mr. Urokodaki that I'd keep training for another year.
"Ne, Tanjiro..." he speaks. "Eh? Yes?" I answered. "Did you enjoy the hot pot?" He asked. I answered, "Yes! I haven't had such a feast in so long!" "A growing boy like you with a hearty appetite should get stronger the more he eats, as well as grow bigger. But that goes for demons, too. Remember this a demon is as strong as the number of humans he's devoured." He adds. "So, the more they eat, the stronger they get?" I asked. "That's right he answered. "There are demons who grow stronger, transform themselves and gain even strange powers. When your keen sense of smell gets stronger, you'll be able to tell how many humans a demon's consumed."

-Time Skip by six months-

As I was training to become more powerful, I heard a voice. It sounded like a male, but I shrugged the voice off. The voice got louder, and I finally looked towards a man in the middle of the clearing. He greeted me, and I greeted him back. The man had a fox mask with a scar on the right side of his mouth.
He charged at me, but I was able to black his wooden training sword. He threw a kick towards my face but failed to make me move or flinch. I pushed him away and asked him, "what are you doing?" He answered my question, with another question, "I'd like to know what you think you are doing." "What do you mean? I'm training?" "That doesn't look like training to me. Come on. Come at me," he said, while he taunts me. "But you have a wooden sword, and I have a real sword!" I told him. "Why am I unable to track his scent. I'm stronger than I was before. Unless... no, that's not possible," I thought. He puts his hand down and starts laughing. "Huh?" I asked myself, confused. "Well, well! Thank you for worrying about me. So, you think you can hurt me?" I answered him, "I'm well beyond that of Mr. Urokodaki. Or I suppose I think I am, so I may be able to do more than just hurt you." He charges at me, while I block him. "Well, let's see you try and land a hit on me then!" He yelled. He jumps up towards a tree and uses the momentum to launch himself towards me. He jumps around everywhere at a speed I can easily track. The man throws his sword and collided with my sword. "It seems you have mastered nothing, judging from you not using any forms nor the Total Concentration breathing." I answer him, "No offence, but I don't think I need any of those to beat you. I trained so hard with the forms that I'm pretty sure my accuracy is sharp with it." Our swords continue to clash as he says threats toward me. I still hold back, careful not to hurt him. "I feel bad for saying this, but all the threats he's saying feel empty," I say in my mind. His sword strikes are getting more and more intense with each blow. I throw stronger strikes to keep up with him. I sweep my legs down towards his legs while turning the opposite way to hit him with my blade handle. One out of the two attacks connects. "I barely know how to fight like a martial artist, so my attacks won't be as accurate as my sword techniques," I mentally say. The man twists his body in a circle and swings his sword to my side. I dodge it, "What the? I see some kind of thread that connects with my blade," I say in my head. It interlocks with my blade and the target's opening. I bring the blade down towards the man's opening and successfully slice the man's mask in half. He speaks up, "Wow. You sure are strong, maybe you'll survive the Final Selection after all. But think of this battle as a test of your strength." He looks to my right, as a short girl walks up. The man says, "I'm leaving the rest to you." I look towards the girl. The girl nods while I look back at the man. I was surprised to see nothing, further supporting my thought.

-Time Skip by a day-

The girl told me her name was Makomo, and the boy's name was Sabito. Makomo also pointed out my defects. She corrected my unnecessary movements and bad habits. I asked myself, "I am also unable to track her scent and her presence. This is weird." She also told me that they both know, and love Mr. Urokodaki. At one point, she stated that there were more of them and that they were always watching him. I got weirded out by the statement.

-Time Skip by 5 and a half months-

After training for 5 and a half months, both Makomo and Sabito taught me Martial Arts, but not much. They also refined my swordsmanship to a higher extent. But after realizing they never came back, I started on the training more.
After a couple more weeks of training, I'd say I'm more than ready for Final Selection.

Chapter 7: End.

I am satisfied with my battle scene, but not by much. I feel like I could do better.

- A Little Secret-
1: When Tanjiro first saw Makomo and how she acts, he thought of her as cute (Just like in the anime).
2: Tanjiro probably knows about both Sabito and Makomo being dead.

If you enjoyed my chapter, along with my battle scene. Please consider upvoting this chapter. I'd appreciate it if you do.
