Mermaid and Siren AU- Mermaid Sun x Siren Corrupted

Corrupted's pov:

I was swimming alone, scaring away anything that approached me. I was well known by my species, being a siren. It was very lonely like this but I could live through it. Foing my usual routes there looked to be another siren or mermaid. Judging by their tail it's a mermaid since our tails tend to have more jagged or preditorial style of tail.

I was puzzled though, why would a mermaid be in my grounds? I approached slowly when he turned to face me, "H-huh?... Oh! Hi there! I'm a little lost... Do you know the directions to the large reef?"

I was even more surprised by his reaction. Did he.... Not know I was a siren? Most creatures were scared if me even without knowing what I am... But he seemed shy at best, "The reef is nowhere near here... And most don't come here because they avoid me..."

He seemed to pout at me, "Avoid you?... Why would they avoid you?..."

I blinked at him, "...You... Can't tell?..."

He tilted his head, "What do you mean?..."

I approached slowly, "I'm a siren... And we aren't exactly... Welcomed..."

He hummed, "Hmm... Well... I-I never met a siren before... So... If you'd like I could be your friend!"

I blushed at the idea. A.... Friend?... I've never had a friend... I don't think I understand how friends even work, "A friend?... Why would you want to be my friend?... Why not play with your own species?.."

"Do you... Not want to be my friend?... N-not many people like being around me either... S-so I figured you would want company?... B-but thank you for the d-directions to where I gotta go.." ,he said as he pouted and turned away.

I felt bad, I didn't want him to feel like that! I just thought he would rather have someone else to hang around! I rushed to him before he could swim away and held him in my arms, "W-wait! I d-didn't mean it like that! I just.... I never had a friend before... I don't talk to many people because of it.."

He was blushing slightly, "O-oh! Well... do you wanna be my friend then?"

I smiled softly, "Sure..~ But... What's your name? I'm Corrupted~"

He smiled warmly, making my heart skip a beat, "Oh! How ride of me! I'm Sundrop but you can call me Sun for short!"

I smiled and let him go after realizing I was still holding him, "Pleasure to meet you Sunny~"

Sun's pov:

Wow! I made a new friend and I'm his first friend! He held me for a long time but I didn't think much of it. I smiled as he spoke, "How about I lead you to the reef? When you're done with what you needed there you can come back and we can hang out for a bit~"

I nodded and followed behind him. After a few minutes we were at the reef and I noticed a lot of the life seemed to move away from us. I didn't see why so I continued to follow Corrupted with a bright smile. After a bit I saw some of my friends I was trying to meet with but they saw Corrupted and seemed angry.... Why are they angry?

Monty came over and grabbed me just as I was about to wave, pulling me away from Corrupted, "What are YOU doing here!?"

I frowned and got away from him, "He was helping me with directions... What's the matter Monty?..."

Monty looked to me in anger, making me step back in slight fear since he gets violent when he's mad, "What's wrong? What. Is. Wrong? He's dangerous! He's a siren!"

I pouted to him, "That's not very nice... A-and he didn't do anything... If anything he helped me!-"

Monty pushed me away and I got nervous, Freddy rushing over to get Monty calmed but also seeming scared. Corrupted just stood in silence, not seeming phased and not looking away from Monty. Freddy looked to me and Corrupted, "I-I... Sun... Perhaps now i-is a bad time... Imma go with Monty but... I-I'm sorry..."

With that Freddy dragged Monty off before they swam away seeming scared. I looked to Corrupted who finally looked to me, "Are you ok Sunshine?.."

I blushed as he offered a hand to me from where I had been pushed into the reef behind me, "Y-yeah! Monty gets.... R-rough when he's mad..."

He looked where they swam to seemingly annoyed, "I could see that... Maybe I... shouldn't have came this close..."

I shook my head, getting up from the reef, "N-no! It's not your fault Corrupted! I d-didn't know he would act like that!"

He sighed, "I tried to tell you that people avoid me... Thank you for staying though..~"

I smiled shyly, "I-I don't mind! You're my friend! You didn't do anything wrong so why would I be upset... I'm just sorry that my friends didn't seem to wanna meet you..."

He chuckles, "It's not your fault... Most who've seen sirens learn to fear us because we hunt humans.."

I blinked at him, "B-but they can be dangerous too! So I-isn't it hypocritical?-"

He seemed to freeze, "....You know... You're the first person to look at it that way... Thanks for that.... Feels... Nice... Having a friend..~"

He had a faint blush, his words giving me a blush to match, "No problem!"

Corrupted's pov:

I... Feel odd now.. Is this what it's like to have a friend?... It feels... Nice..~ Like a high I never wanna come down from~ Maybe befriending this mermaid wouldn't be too bad? We went to my cave and hung out the rest of the day, by the end of the day Sun fell asleepeaningon me and I held him close. If I knew friends were this much fun I would of got one sooner~
