Chapter 12 - Rescuing the Sun and Moon (Pt. 2)

Oiamh's POV

It's been five days since the ritual, I haven't slept in that amount of time due to the stress of trying to put together a plan to rescue Crescida and Soli...

"Oiamh, sweetheart, you should really rest....you've been awake for five days straight now. You're going to make yourself sick if you keep this up" Yukio told me

I asked Aleiya, Esterra and Yukio to come and help me because I was really struggling. I didn't want to ask my parents lest they notice my sleep deprivation.

"Yukio's right Oiamh. You really need to get some sleep...We can keep planning whilst you rest if you really want to get this plan finalised today" Aleiya added

I let out a sigh because I'm scared

"Do you three think I'm worthy to even be the next forest guardian?" I asked

"What makes you think you're not?" Esterra asked

"I've just been wondering is all lately..." I replied

"You're definitely worthy to be the next forest guardian my sweet child. Your father and I have see your kind hearted nature for ourselves and a certain sky wolf has seen it as well. We also believe you and he may be the keys to rewriting history for our kind.." Mother said when she came out to the balcony to check on me.

I was about to say something when I felt dizzy then my world spun.

I didn't black out entirely but when I opened my eyes again I was in my mother's arms

"When was the last time you slept Oiamh?" Mother asked me

"Five days ago...." I muttered then she pulled me close to her chest

"If you didn't sleep due to the stress from planning the rescue mission you could've just asked your father and I for help as well...I know you want to lead the mission yourself. We won't stop you from doing that. But you can't lead the mission if you're sick due to lack of sleep sweetheart" Mother told me then I broke down and cried in her embrace

"Oiamh..." I heard Yukio and Aleiya mumble.

I felt more arms wrap around me and when I looked it was Esterra, Yukio, Aleiya and my father.

"You're the brightest crescent moon this forest has ever seen. We have complete faith in you. But please....sleep" Father said to me. I was solely in his embrace now. I felt warm and at ease, so at ease I began to fall asleep in his arms. Just like how I used to as a young were-pup.

Eventually I was out cold sleeping.

Trodaí's POV

I felt Oiamh's weight shift a bit, when I looked, my little girl was fast asleep.

"I'll bring Oiamh to her room then come back to help build on her plan so far" I told everyone.

"Alright. I have a good idea we could use as well but I'll wait until you return before I say" Yukio stated

When I got to Oiamh's room I lay her under her duvet. Whenever Naomi or myself put her to bed like this, it just reminds us of the time when she was younger and we did this all the time - even when we told her stories of our past for bedtime tales.

"Sleep well little crescent" I whispered to Oiamh and kissed her forehead before leaving the room.

Little Crescent is also the main nickname she has from me and Naomi because it's our way of saying she's the Luna's heir. She is the Crescent Moon for the forest wolves - the next Luna.

I returned to the balcony's planning room where everyone else was then looked at the list of plan ideas Oiamh made already

"We could strike from all sides. The Shadow Clan are only powerful when they strike together. But if we band together with our allies we stand a chance" I explained

"We don't have many allies though....not since the great wolf fight or flight..." Naomi mentioned

"You may not have every wolf...but you have the sky wolves backing you up" I heard a voice tell us then Rowen and Skyla landed next to me and Naomi.

"Rowen! And Skyla?!" Aleiya asked in shock

"Indeed - we need to be careful though as our elders have caught on to Zero and Oiamh....not that it would stop the pair from hanging out. We're with you all the way" Rowen explained

"I see....any help you could provide would be great though" I told Rowen

"Well us sky wolves are masters of healing magic...we can heal during combat and I myself can heal and attack at the same time. I'm known as the holy blade amongst our clan. Zero....doesn't have a title due to his curse...but putting that to side what's the plan so far?" Rowen asked me

Wait...curse? I didn't know Zero was cursed....

"Yukio, you mentioned you had an idea. What was it?" I asked the fawn

"Why not ask one of the shadow wolves for information if you capture them? The one who attacked Oiamh in the Fae Castle seemed to regret doing it. I suspect she's against what her people are doing" Yukio explained.

That would be a very risky plan.

"We also don't know where in the shadow clan's territory Crescida and Soli are behind held hostage though. It would prove useless to launch a full scale attack if we don't know where we're attacking in order to create the diversion for our kids to get in and rescue the deities" Skyla explained

"True. And I don't want to send Oiamh and Zero to their deaths...nay. We wait until we have a confirmed location before we begin the assault. That way we know where we have to strike" Naomi added

"Alright then. Once we find out where they are we will cement the plan after that" I stated then Esterra, Yukio and Aleiya left.

"What about Zero's curse?" I asked Rowen.

"When he was a little pup - about a year before the fight or flight - he was attacked. His heart ripped out from his body and him left as a temporary immortal wolf. His heart was put into a box then buried...somewhere....but if he doesn't get it back by his 22nd birthday he'll die and none of our healing powers can break the curse" Skyla explained to Naomi and I.

We were speechless.
