Oiamh's POV

I arrived at the door of the office my dad once had. As I gently pushed the door open, cobwebs and dust littered parts of the room, evidence that suggests that it has become vacant for some time. I knew I needed to do what I came here to do, but I couldn't help to turn and look at the way the room looked. I closed my eyes and imagined what life would have been like if things had been different. I remembered dad's desk and a younger me being in dad's lap as he went about his work. The thought made me choke up a little.

"Oiamh?" a voice gently called out. With a start, I turned to see the source of the voice. I recognized the elven woman who spoke up at the last meeting.

"Oh! Rosetta if I recall?" I said, gently clutching my chest, trying to sweep off the slight startle I had just received. "What are you doing here?"

"I could ask you the same question," she replied sternly and crossed her arms. "No one is supposed to be allowed in this office. Though given that you are the owner's daughter, I suppose it makes sense why you are here. Are you looking for something?"

"The demon possessing my dad's corpse took off to the mainland. Ireland is huge from what my parents told me as a child. They often spoke of their adventures together there. I've only been in this room once before when I was about five." I turned to look at the room once more, then let out a huge sigh. "The problem is that I have no idea where to look."

"I might have an idea," Rosetta claimed, which made me turn back toward her in anticipation. "As you may have known, I was your father's second-in-command of the Mythical Knights. I was rather versed in how his office was set up. I do remember him writing a journal daily. That may have the answers you seek. Shall we get looking?"

I nodded in agreement. The search was daunting, but nigh on an hour, Rosetta spotted the dust-ravaged journal. "I knew he had it, but to hide it that well," she said as she handed me the book. "Let us hope you find what you need."

I noticed a blue felt ribbon left between one of the pages, so I decided to start looking there. I noticed my hand shaking a little as I pried the book open, knowing that I was about to peer into my dad's past. I took a deep breath, then gazed down at the page.

My dearest Naomi...

The day I first laid eyes on you; I was starstruck. Your strength was greater than my own. Then again, you are the Nature Guardian and Forest Valkyrie. One day, it is my wish to bring you to a special place in Ireland, the Shrine of Lions. It reminds me of your ferocity, and I hope that one day I will make you my Luna Consort. I know both of our parents would love it as they've taken a liking to each other.

I know our elders may scoff at me choosing someone of different birth to me, but I want to marry for love. I wish to wed someone I love; position or blood be damned.
