Naomi's POV
It's been 3 days since I woke up and now I can cut off the spell keeping Oiamh asleep whilst her body recovers.
I walked into her room then saw Zero sitting next to her
"Lady Naomi! Forgive me, I've just been worried about her since that day" Zero said as he jumped up from his seat
"Easy Zero, I know you love her. Trodaí knew it as well..." I replied then he sat on the bed next to her and I sat in the seat.
"I don't know why she won't wake up though...we've healed her wounds so why is she still unconscious?" Zero asked
"That would be my doing" I stated bluntly
"How so?" Zero stated in confusion
"I cast a spell on Oiamh to keep her in a painless slumber until her injuries were fully healed. Since that's happened I'll break the spell then she'll wake up at some point today" I explained then muttered the reversal spell.
Zero and I just waited in her room for Oiamh to regain her consciousness.
After about a half hour, Oiamh's eyes twitched then she finally opened them.
"Z.....er.....o?" Oiamh mumbled weakly
"Oiamh...you're awake again" he replied with tears in his eyes.
Oiamh turned her head to face me so I held out my hand to her then she took hold of it weakly.
"Oiamh, sweetie, I'm afraid there's been an accident with your father....he's....Trodaí is dead..." I told Oiamh who let go of my hand immediately with tears welling up in her eyes.
I looked away because I didn't want to see her grief-stricken face. Not when I'm still reeling with guilt and grief at being unable to save my own husband and the father of our new Luna.
Zero's POV
After Naomi said that to Oiamh I just held my girlfriend close to my chest. Even going as far as wrapping my wings of wind around her. I've never heard her cry this much before and I understand why honestly.
Trodaí meant a lot to her and every wolf in the forest clan. Naomi left to go get some fresh air as well
Some time passed and I decided to bring Oiamh upstairs to the living room where our folks are.
She spent the next few hours in silence, again - I can't blame her.
"Oiamh I swear on my life that we will get revenge for your Father's death." I told her
"Thank you Zero...." Oiamh told me as she just rested in my arms leaning against my chest
"My lord, my lady, a wolf with hair as black as night and dressed in green is here. She's wishing to speak with the forest princess" one of the guards said as he entered
"Does this wolf have her hair tied up in twin ponytails?" I asked
"Yes my lord" he replied
"Let her in. She's an ally of the forest luna" I stated
"As you wish" the guard stated then bowed out.
Five minutes later Dawn walked in
"I came as fast as I could when I heard the news about the Forest Clan. Lady Oiamh I'm so sorry for what Rose and Leyla did to you and your family. They're monsters through and through. Only doing all of this to satisfy their own agenda. Would that I knew what it was though" Dawn explained
"It's fine Dawn....were you able to retrieve it?" Oiamh asked. She sounds like she's slowly regaining more strength about herself as well which is great
"Indeed I was my lady" Dawn replied then showed us the coffin box with Zero's name on it alongside a lightning bolt symbol
"Apologies it took me so long to retrieve this my lady, that soil is incredibly hard to dig through so I had to go to extreme measures in order to break through it and get the box" Dawn added once my mother took the box from her.
"How extreme?" I asked then another wolf came in with one of our guards
"LYCIDAS?!" I shouted in shock
"I apologise for everything I did. Dawn came back to the shadow manor and bade me help her retrieve the heart of the sky prince. As much as I fear punishment from my father, my older sister means the world to me so I wanted to help her." Lycidas explained
"Aye....Lyci and I were raised by a vindictive and abusive mother. You may have heard of her: Scarlet Shadow. Otherwise known as the blood wolf..." Dawn explained then I felt weight shift on my chest and realised Oiamh was sleeping soundly in my embrace.
Rest well my dear Luna. You need it
My mother opened the box and it was indeed my heart!
"Mother....how do we put it back in my body then?" I asked
"We'll need the aid of the Phoenix - I'll send word to Esterra immediately. For now, why don't you take Oiamh to your room and let her rest some more. You also need the rest yourself. Take time off from your duties and just spend time with her and aid her recovery son" Father told me
"Very well....but have the guards keep an eye on Lycidas Shadow. Dawn has earned my trust for now but he hasn't" I replied
"Understandable. C'mon Lyci.." Dawn said then I lifted Oiamh into my arms bridal style and went to my room.
I laid her in my bed then looked out the window at the forest below. The fires burnt out and thankfully there was no damage at all from what I can see
What will become of her life in the forest clan now?....I want to be a better partner to her and be her alpha male if she'll have me.
