Peter p.o.v
"Is that really you, Alice? I saw your dead body. You died..." She smirked and rolled her eyes.
"That form died, yes. It was a pity, I was beautiful. I lost my powers but I was resurrected by a powerful man, one greater than The Dark One! He told me what I was to do so I can stay forever young and powerful, so I was sent here to do my job."
"Which is to steal my soul. This isn't helping me find Ber. Tell me and we'll continue this later." She tsk-ed and waved a bony finger at me.
"You have to solve my little riddle, lovely. She's where it all began." Where it all began. Does she mean her arrival here or Neverland completely? Her arrival, definitely, I never told anyone how Neverland started.
"Boys go back to the camp. Felix, you're coming with me. Let's go." We split up and I warned the boys to look out for Wendy.
"No need to worry about the Wolf Witch, lovely. She's dead, actually dead this time, I stole her soul to complete my restoration." We headed for the beginning of Alice's stay in Neverland. It took us almost 10 minutes to get there. The table was still set, as if it someone was expecting company at any moment. I was always curious as to why here, the others were dropped by the camp but not Alice, she was found sitting here in a daze.
"We're here, now answer me." She smiled and shifted lightly, looking passed me at something else. I turn and see her, tied to a tree with enchanted rope. She looked at us and bared her teeth, which were her dragon teeth, and hissed at us. I wasn't angry, I wasn't upset, I was sad.
She squirmed against the ropes, causing them to pull tighter around her, blood trickling down tells me she's been fighting for a while now. She was slowly changing over to her Dragon self, eyes golden and slitted, claws and fangs and scales, her wings had always been around to heal properly, and her tail lashed, causing deep gouges in the bark.I knew she was gone, her soul had been stolen. She was more animal than she's ever been, only thinking like a wild and purely beastly Dragon. She didn't even recognize me or Felix.
"You stole hers as well, didn't you?""It was hard work, she put up quite the fight. But yes, I did snatch her soul as well." She seemed pleased with herself, which isn't surprising.
"Who sent you?"
"You know I wouldn't tell, lovely." I whirl to face her, rage tinting my vision.
"I DON'T WANT YOUR RIDDLES, KENNA! WHO SENT YOU!" She said nothing. "I will kill you where you stand and not give it a second thought."
"Why don't we ask him?" I turn and see a man standing at the head of the table, clothed in a burlap robe with long black hair and hard brown eyes. I know this man.
"Its been a long time since you've dared return here again. Especially after last time." He laughed and sat down.
"Yes it has, hasn't it? I missed those days, you know. When we were both wild and reckless."
"Why have you returned?" He produced some tea and filled a cup.
"You know why, Peter." He gazed over at Ber.
"There isn't any more. Ask Kenna." He glared at Kenna who coolly looked back.
"Is that so, Kenna?" She nodded and he frowned in concentration. "Well then I guess I have no need of you anymore." He waved his hand and Kenna crumbled into screams and dust. He turned over to Ber, looking her over as she tried to be freed of her restrictions.
"Return her soul, Raz, and leave the island." He laughed but did as he was asked. He pulled her soul from a leather bag infused with Pixie Dust and it floated back to he'd body in a stream of gold and blue and red. She shuddered and dropped her head as her soul found its home in her.
"Now leave."
"Why should I, Peter? Because you don't want her to know the truth? Of what you've done?"
"Because you don't belong, Rasputin. You are too old for Neverland."
"If I'm too old, then what about that Dragon that lives here? Alecon Black, I believe."
"That's not the island keeping him alive here. Stay and you die." He smiled and attacked me. Felix launched between us, his knife burying into Rasputin's abdomen. Yanking it out, he stepped over to Ber and sliced the ropes before setting her on the table, the spells casted there will keep her safe.
Rasputin healed himself and we went at it. Spells flew and blades clashed. Blood rained from open wounds that we gained faster than they can heal. I could feel as my heart grew strained and weakened. I stumbled to the ground, bleeding and breathless with a heart that was failing.
"Petey!?" I glanced over at her. She sat on the table with big tears filling her eyes. Those brown eyes widened as something sharp pierced my chest and stole away my breath. She screamed and jumped from the table as I heard wild and manic laughter.
I look up to see what it was. Rasputin was standing over me triumphantly, a sword he once held was now buried deep into my chest. He wrenched it out and I could feel my life as it quickly faded.
I had envisioned living forever, never growing old and dying. But now all I can see is the blood as it bubbled from me to soak the dirt below me. Everything moved slowly and I watched as Beryl attacked Rasputin with my sword. She stabbed him through the heart and ran to my side, gently cradling me to her.
"Ber, I want you to do something for me."
"I'm not leaving your side, Petey. You will be fine, promise." I gently grab her hand and kissed it.
"Please, save Henry. Take him home. Do that for me." I took a gulping breath. "I love you, Beryl, never forget that." And I breathed out for my last time.
