Michael woke up the next morning to find the other side of the bed empty, even though he knew that Lily had fallen asleep with him the night before.
He let out a big sigh and rubbed his eyes, trying to figure out if he had done something stupid last night to make her want to leave. Michael didn't think he'd done anything wrong, he was a perfect gentleman. At least he thought he was.
Michael was used to that, though. He'd sleep with girls and then wake up the next morning to find that they were gone. Of course he hadn't slept with Lily, they just both fell asleep, but it was almost the same thing.
After laying by himself in bed for a few minutes Michael started to hear someone talking in the kitchen, and he figured that Calum and Ashton were awake. He decided that he needed to get up before they killed each other and rolled out of bed, not even caring that he was still in the same clothes that he wore the day before.
Michael slowly made his way out of his bedroom and down the hallway, into the kitchen. When he walked in there he was surprised to see Lily sitting on the counter, chatting away with Calum and Ashton while they attempted to make pancakes together.
"Michael, you're finally awake!" Lily said, being the first one to notice that he had walked into the room. She hopped down off of the counter and walked over to Michael, still wearing his sweater.
"Uh, yeah." Michael nodded, looking over at the clock on the stove to check the time. It was already 12:30, so he could understand that Lily had probably gotten bored of waiting for Michael to wake up.
"Did you sleep alright?" Lily asked, standing up on her toes and kissing Michael on the cheek.
"Yeah, I guess." Michael said quietly, trying to come up with some way to escape the kitchen and his annoying friends. Maybe if he and Lily just walked out no one would notice.
He was kind of pissed that Lily had been in there talking to Calum and Ashton, not because he was jealous or anything, but because he specifically told Lily that he didn't want her meeting his roommates just yet.
"Michael, I can't believe you didn't introduce us to Lily sooner." Ashton spoke up, turning around and leaving Calum to handle the pancakes on his own
"Sorry." Michael shrugged.
"Yeah, I like your roommates." Lily giggled. She took Michael's hand in hers, pulling him further into the kitchen so he had no way to leave now. "They're not annoying like you said they are."
"Not yet." Michael scoffed. He knew Calum and Ashton better than anyone else did, and Michael knew that it was only a matter of time before they started to let their true selves show.
"So did you guys fuck last night? I didn't hear anything this time, Michael. You must have learned how to keep girls quiet - " Calum said over his shoulder, remaining focused on the pancakes.
"No, we didn't do anything like that." Michael said quickly, shaking his head. He squeezed Lily's hand a little tighter. "We just watched a movie until we both fell asleep."
"Yeah, that's why Lily's in your shirt." Ashton said sarcastically, rolling his eyes.
"Oh, I was wearing a dress earlier and I was really uncomfortable so Michael gave me this to wear." Lily spoke up, trying to help Michael out.
"Sure." Calum scoffed. He stepped away from the pancakes and turned around so he was facing Michael and Lily. "You're trying to tell me that you guys spent the whole night together and didn't even have sex once?"
"I told you, we were watching a movie." Michael assured him.
"Just leave him alone, Cal," Ashton sighed. He took over with the pancakes, putting them onto a big plate for them all to share. "At least he wasn't locked in his room writing that book all night."
