Michael sat in a boring meeting, tapping his own against the wooden table in front of him. His agent Kim and a few other people were in the room, going over some last minute details of his book that was finally getting published.

He felt so guilty. Michael didn't want to do this, he didn't want the whole world to read what he'd said about Lily, but he felt like he needed to. Michael was so stubborn and he felt like he just had to win against Lily, and this was the only way that he could do that.

Ashton continuously told Michael to just call it off. He and Calum both knew that Michael wanted to keep his pride and do something to really piss Lily off, but they kept warning Michael that it was a bad idea. Michael knew that it was a bad idea too, he was just refusing to pay attention to that small fact.

It hurt Michael that Lily was fine without him now. He'd thought that she would be feeling just like him now, but unless she was just a good liar, she wasn't. She didn't need Michael anymore, and he should have seen this coming.

This was what Lily did, she dated boys for a while and then dumped them the second they did something wrong. And even though what Michael did was really wrong, for some reason he'd thought that maybe they'd make it through this.

He thought that Lily loved him, he thought that they were going to spend the rest of their lives together, but apparently Michael was wrong. Lily didn't care about him nearly as much as he cared about her, and that was fine.

Michael really just wanted Lily to be happy, and he'd rather have her he happy with someone else than not be happy with him.

It was just so stupid. Michael couldn't believe that he had ruined the best relationship he'd ever had because of a book. Most of the things in the book were lies, or at least over-exaggerations, so it's not like Michael really meant some of the things that Lily read, but he still understood why it was wrong.

And yeah, Lily had her blog, but Michael didn't think that he blog was as bad as what he'd done. He had gone back and read some of the other things that Lily wrote about him on her blog, before she got mad and posted a list of every embarrassing thing he'd done, and they were all nice. Much nicer than what Michael had done.

He sighed to himself and shook his head. If Michael really cared so much about Lily's happiness he would have called off this book long ago.

"Michael, are you even listening?" Kim's voice pulled him out of his thoughts and Michael looked up, having no idea what anyone had said for the past few minutes.

"Uh, no." He said quietly.

"I asked when you wanted to start." Kim sighed loudly, setting a large stack of papers down on the table.

"Start? With what?" Michael questioned, trying to lean forward to see if the papers Kim had set down had anything to do with what she was asking him about.

"The book tour." Kim said blankly, rolling her eyes. She'd had to deal with Michael for the last 4 years and he'd never been very good at paying attention during these meetings.

"Tour?" Michael asked, and then something snapped inside of him. He didn't want to do this, he didn't want this book to come out and hurt Lily even more than she already was. He loved her, and Michael couldn't do this to someone he loved. "Oh, uh, never."
