"Luke!" Lily yelled, throwing another shirt down on the floor. "Do you have my black jeans?"
Luke didn't answer, so Lily groaned again and left her walk-in closet, heading towards Luke's room with her puppy following closely behind her.
"Luke." Lily sighed, opening the door to his bedroom without knocking. "Do you have my black jeans?"
"Um, maybe?" Luke groaned, sitting up slowly. He'd been sleeping, of course, because that's all Luke ever did anymore. "You can check my dresser, the maid might have put them in there."
Lily walked over to the dresser on the other side of the room, where Luke kept most of his clothes. She searched through all the drawers, becoming more and more annoyed when she realized that the jeans she wanted to wear were nowhere in the apartment.
"Well, now I have to go shopping." Lily sighed, folding her arms over her chest.
"Why? You can't find them?" Luke questioned and Lily nodded. "Maybe they're just in the wash, Lil, you don't have to go out and buy another pair."
"I know that they're not in the wash, though, I haven't worn them in forever." Lily pouted, she knew exactly where they were, she just didn't want to go get them. "I left them at Michael's."
"Oh." Luke nodded slowly, beginning to understand.
"So I either have to go get them or buy new ones and I would rather just go buy a new pair of jeans than ever have to see Michael again." Lily said quickly, picking up the puppy from where he had been running around her feet.
"Really, Lil?" Luke let out a soft sigh, shaking his head. "It's not that hard to go over there and just ask for your stuff back. He had some stuff here too, didn't he? Maybe you can bring it back to him as well."
"I can have someone bring his stuff back to his apartment for me." Lily said stubbornly. She was still mad at Michael, partly for the whole book thing but mostly because he went out with his ex-girlfriend again.
And Lily should have been mad at him. She went out with one of her ex-boyfriend's that same day, but it was different. At least she knew that there was nothing going on between her and Marcus, Lily had no idea whether or not Michael and his ex-girlfriend were back together or not and she probably wouldn't know until there was a story about them on the front page of every magazine.
"I can go with you, if you want." Luke offered.
"No, you're just going to end up having sex with Calum again." Lily said casually, letting her puppy on the top of his head. "It's fine, I'll just go shopping again."
"You can't just ignore Michael for the rest of your life." Luke mumbled under his breath, looking down to avoid eye contact with his sister.
"What?" Lily asked, glaring at Luke.
"I said you can't just ignore him for the rest of your life." Luke said, speaking up. "I get it, Lil, you loved him and you broke up and now you're sad, but you and Michael are bound to see each other again, you can't just avoid him."
"Well I don't want to see him." Lily said, continuing to be her stubborn self. She knew that Luke was just trying to help, and deep down Lily was pretty sure that he was right, but she didn't want to admit it.
"I really don't know what you expect me to say, then." Luke said quietly.
"I just don't know what to do." Lily whined.
"I already told you what to do." Luke groaned. "I told you to be the bigger person and bring Michael's stuff back to him, and while you're there you can get your stuff back too. I think both of you are mature enough to have a 5 minute conversation about getting each other's clothes back."
