"Look at this, Michael." Lily whined, trying to shove her phone in Michael's face. "Look at it!"

"I'm driving, babe." Michael laughed and pushed the phone away from him, trying not to get distracted.

"But Luke sent me the cutest picture of the puppy! You're going to die, Michael, it's so cute." Lily said and squirmed around in her seat. Their puppy still didn't have a name, but that didn't really bother Michael. He thought it was funny to just call the puppy 'the puppy'.

"I'm only going to die if you don't stop shoving your phone on my face." Michael laughed softly.

"Okay, okay, I'll wait to show you until we stop." Lily said, squirming around in her seat. She couldn't sit still for more than a few seconds. "How much longer?"

"A little over an hour." Michael said, even though he had told Lily how much longer just five minutes before.

They were driving to Michael's parent's house, which was a few hours away from the city. Michael had wanted to get away for a few days to avoid all of the drama that his roommates were causing, and he had been looking at hotel rooms until Michael suggested that they go stay with his parents for a few days. Lily very hesitantly agreed.

Michael loved his parents, he really did, but they were kind of embarrassing, especially when it came to Michael having girlfriends, and that was the only thing he was worried about. Michael didn't want his mom to whip out the baby pictures for Lily. He figured that this was bound to happen, though, he'd met Lily's parents so it was only fair for her to meet his.

"I'm bored." Lily huffed, folding her arms across her chest. "Why is this the most boring car ride ever?"

"I don't know." Michael shrugged. He thought that it was funny that Lily was being so impatient, it was cute. "You can turn on the radio, if you'd like."

"Everything on the radio sucks." Lily said, pouting.

"Then don't complain." Michael chuckled, even though he knew that Lily was only going to complain more after that. Michael and Lily had been dating for a while now, and he was getting used to dealing with her. Sometimes it was better to just smile and nod and let Lily go on with her life.

"I can't believe your car doesn't have a plug-in for an AUX cord." Lily whined, slouching down even further into her seat. "What car doesn't have a plug-in for an AUX cord?"

"Sorry." Michael shrugged again.

"I'm tired." Lily groaned and squirmed around in her seat, clearly trying to get comfortable.

"Take a nap. I'll wake you up when we get close." Michael said, giving Lily a small smile. He reached over gave her thigh a small pat, secretly hoping that Lily would listen to him and take a nap so he could have at least a few minutes of silence.

"No, this car is super uncomfortable, I'll never fall asleep." Lily dismissed Michael's suggestion, shaking her head.

"Okay. Sorry, again." Michael sighed. He shouldn't have felt like this was his fault, but he did. Lily was unhappy and Michael felt bad because she didn't care how much he was trying to help her.

"Ugh, I'm so bored." Lily huffed, sitting up straight again and folding her arms over her chest. "This is boring. Why are we doing this, again?"

"Well, we're just going to visit my parents. I don't know, babe." Michael shrugged slowly, still keeping his eyes on the road. "You said that it'd be nice to get away from the city for a while, there's so much drama at both of our apartments."

"Yeah, but I thought that we'd go on a cool vacation somewhere. Like Paris." Lily rolled her eyes and started picking at her nails, which she'd gotten done earlier that morning. (It was a huge ordeal, Lily couldn't just leave without getting her nails done).
