You stumble backwards, panic flaring.

Queen raises a hand to her mouth and laughs at you. Her holographic eyes display only "LMAO". It switches to a row of red question marks when she addresses you once more.

"Lightner I Thought I Had You Removed"

She leans down, peering into your eyes with a playful smile.

"Well, No Matter. I Am Not Here For You"

She waves you off, stepping further into the room.

You back up against the wall, ushering Spamton behind you. Anger and fear grapple in your chest. You want so badly to take out your resentment on Queen now, but you know that you have to protect Spamton. It will have to come later.

The main question that weighs on your mind is this: Why is Queen here in the first place?

Though it should be a challenging question, whatwith Queen's unpredictable nature, you find the answer just as soon as you remember your informant.

Swatch had told you that she wouldn't be here. So had Tasque Manager, yes, but when you look between the two, their expressions tell you all you need to know. Tasque Manager is surprised and pleased, as expected, but Swatch... Well, he is neither. His mask is tilted down, leaving his eyes in shadow. His feathers are pressed in tight, expressing some form of guilt.

He ratted someone out.

Who, though, if not you?

Queen strolls over to her maid, chatting idly. She looks... surprisingly casual.

Spamton edges towards the door.

"Wait," You whisper, stepping in front of him. "We should find out what she's doing."

He nods, but his brow is furrowed and static rumbles through both his glasses and his muttering.

Queen and Tasque Manager seem to reach an agreement, but on what, you have no idea.

That is, until Queen smiles and gestures, looking past you and into the doorway.

"Noelle Sweetie Honey Darling Gravy Do Not Be Shy, Come Here"

When you follow Queen's gaze, you find someone who is unmistakably a Lightner.

She stands at the edge of the doorway, just barely peering into the room, eyes worried and watery. She's almost buried in her dress- the white folds of fabric hide all but her head, hands, and cloven hooves. It's simple in its design, but you see a thin shimmer of frost along the edges, giving it a certain angelic beauty. Spamton's description was definitely accurate.

It's not that which gives her away, though. While, for one, she is reminiscent of the monsters you used to know in the Light World rather than the electronic Darkners of the Cyber World- flesh, fur, and antlers, rather than metal, plastic, and wiring- there is also something to the way she moves within the world. As she walks towards Queen, it's like the light ripples around her, drawing your eye in a way the others do not.

When your soul hums, you can feel hers hum back.

She catches your eye briefly, all shock and fear, but her attention is back on Queen in an instant. All you can do is watch as she reaches Queen's side and is swept up into a conversation you care little about.

"Psst, that's the [[BIG ONE]]," Spamton says, nudging your leg.

"I can tell," is all you can say in response.

You fall into awed silence, unable to keep yourself from staring.

The girl shudders. She turns her head just enough to steal a worried glance at you.
