11. The barn

Daryl woke up first to see y/n laying facing him. His face got red remembering about last night. His hand grazed his mouth and then his chin smiling to himself knowing that maybe things will be alright with y/n.

Daryl got dressed and headed out the house so he could get a head start on looking for Sofia.

"Will you please tell me why your dad has a secret barn full of walkers? It's creepy."

"Shh, just trust me on this okay?"

"But I suck at lying. I can't even play poker. It's too much like lying."

"You have to keep this to yourself. You have to. Please." Maggie asked Glenn, which he nodded.

Earlier Daryl had set up a tent and wanted to get out the house Incase anything happened so he went there.

"Hey. This is not that great, but..." Andrea said handing Daryl a book.

"What, no pictures?"

"I'm so sorry. I feel like shit"

"Yeah, you and me both. What happened to ya face."

"Y/n punched me really hard when I shot you."

Daryl laughs a bit, while Andrea left. Y/n woke up seeing that Daryl had already gone to look for Sofia. She grabs her hearing aids and heads outside with everyone.

Rosco jumped on her almost making her fall back but she held her ground and started petting and scratching his ears. Y/n smiled at him and went over to Glenn.

Glenn spots y/n and pulls her away from everyone.

"I need to tell you something, okay"

"Okay"

"Hershal has walkers in the barn and lori's pregnant." Glenn said rather fast and in a hushed tone. Y/n couldn't get a word in but only got the word barn.

Y/n looks at Glenn up and down and then to the side and back to him. Glenn wanted to tell y/n since there was only so much she could hear he thought she wouldn't say a thing. He pats her shoulder and smiles.

Y/n was really confused but shook her head and dismissed what he had said to her. Y/n then went back inside the house to eat something and the she runs into Maggie.

"Oh hey y/n"

"Hi"

Y/n noticed how the sounds were like wind was against her ear so she fixed them and was more clear to her.

"Do you need something?"

Y/n signs 'hungry' and points at the apples in a bowl. Maggie looks over to the bowl and smiles at y/n leaving the house. Y/n grabs the apple and looks outside to see Glenn and Dale talking.

While y/n was eating her apple she couldn't forget about what had happened last night with Daryl. How soft his lips were against hers and the way he was holding her was a bit hesitant but careful at the same time. After finishing her apple she goes outside and head towards the horses.

As y/n was going over to the horses to clear her head a bit. She noticed that the horse Daryl had taken was back in it's stall. She went over to Nelly which is the horses name and started to feed it hay. She used to love going horse back riding with old friends when she was young.

Glenn and Maggie went to town again to get since Lori had asked Glenn to get her certain pills. "What's y/n to you Glenn?" Maggie asks him. "Oh y/n, well she's my friend. My best friend I guess since me and her hang out alot and go on runs together but if your thinking what I know your thinking, haha she's a bit too old for me." "How old is she exactly?" "I think about in her late twenties maybe early thirties, but besides that she's a great person to have as a friend." "Yeah she is, even though I don't talk to her much she seems like a pretty great girl."
