41. Deal

"You can't be serious right now." You replied angrily after Rick told you if he handed over Michonne to the governor he'd leave y'all alone.

"Rick I want you to think really hard about this, she has helped us, she didn't have to but she did. She helped you get me, Glenn, and Maggie back, brought the formula, and she wants to help fight the governor."

Rick stays silent, so does Daryl and Hershal. "Is her life any less than ours, for you to give her to the governor. Say you do give her to him, what do you think he'll do to her. What if it were Carl.. or any one of us. Would you be willing to give one of us up.. to that monster."

"I have to do what's best for the group."

"You're not listening to me." You get closer to Rick, "Do you honestly think what he says is true, do what you want, but leave me out of it."

You walk away back into the prison.

"We tell her we need to talk. Away from the others."

"This ain't us man, gotta agree with y/n on this one."

"No. No, it isn't." Hershal said making his way back inside the prison as well.

Walking over to the table setting your bowl down, a small wave of morning sickness came over you.

"Mmmm, chinga"

"You okay y/n?" Glenn asked

"Mhm, I'm okay." You replied back sitting down, Rosco layed at your feet, head perked up nuzzling his snout into your leg.

Maggie and Carl brought the pans and spoons to make noises to get the walkers to them and poke them through the fence, while you, Daryl, Glenn, and Michonne put out some barbed wire for the governor.

"Hey be careful ight." Daryl yells you when you went to go help Michonne take out some of the walkers on the field.

Then getting back inside the truck driving back into the prison. Daryl helps you out, and you just had to laugh.

"What's so funny?"

"Nothin just seeing you all soft."

"Pfft quiet."

"They try to drive up to the gate again, maybe some blown tires will stop them."

"That's a good idea." Rick looks to Glenn

"It was Michonne's." You said making him turn towards you.

"We don't have to win. We just have to make their getting at us more trouble than it's worth."

Rick looks at you and Daryl and thinks about what he's doing is right.

"Y/n you look a little pale you okay?" Maggie asks putting her hand on your shoulder.

"Yeah I'm fine, I'm okay."

"You sure?"

"Nah let's get you inside." Daryl stepped in grabbing your hand taking you inside.

As soon as you get to y'all's cell you threw up into the toilet.

"Let it out, you alright."

After finishing you go lay down on the bed.

"You just rest ight sunshine, love you." He kisses the top of you head and messes with the small little curls on your head.

You let out a hum acknowledging what he said.

Daryl went to go talk to Glenn helping him fix up the door gate.

"He's gonna make it right. I'm gonna make him. There's got to be a way." He tries reasoning with him, but Glenn kept giving him the same look that he gives Merle.

"He tied me to a chair, beat me, and threw a walker in the room. Maybe I could call it even. But he-- he took y/n to a man who terrorized her, humiliated her."

"But maybe I'm not the one you should be asking if I have forgiven him. Did it ever occur to you that maybe y/n is the one you should be asking?"

Daryl didn't even think about asking you, he just looked at Glenn and when on his way to look for you then Merle.

Daryl's gets to y'all's cell seeing you awake stretching. He stands day the doorway.

"You okay?"

"Yeah just wanted to ask ya some'in."

You look at him waiting patiently. "Do you uh, do you forgive my brother?"

You think about what he said. Do you forgive his brother? Did he deserve it?

"Yes, I do. And before you say anything I would never lie to you, so yes I do forgive him. I'm kinda glad me that shirt."

"Even when he let that girl in the room?"

"Yeah, he had to do what he had to, he wasn't the one holding the gun against Maggie in that room, it was the governor. Not him, the governor."

You stand up walking up to him and he does the same embracing you.

"I'm sorry I had to ask ya that."

"It's okay, but let me ask you something. Do you forgive your brother? But more importantly does he forgive be himself? He's your brother the only actual family you have, but you also have us too, and we're going to have a little family of our own. Believe it or not I want him to be part of it."

"So do I, but-"

You cut him off by placing your lips on his. It was a long gentle kiss that he wishes could last forever.

You pull away, "go talk to him." You smiled at him and he nods going to go look for his brother.

Daryl finds Merle asking him what he was doing and of course Merle was looking for drugs, then they started talking about the governor's deal he made with Rick.

"What happened to you?"

"What happened to you man, with Glenn, Maggie.. y/n."

Merle pauses for a second at the mention of you, "I've done worse. You need to grow up. Things are different now."

"You know she forgave you, y/n."

"Well ain't she a peach then, you twos gonna have a baby now huh, guess you do have balls little brother."

Daryl's just shakes his head, "I just want my brother back." Then he leaves.

Daryl found you holding Judith feeding her a bottle, Rosco had his head on the edge of your lap sniffing Judith.

He stood by the doorway thinking about you holding y'all's baby. He was hoping the baby would be just like you, beautiful, caring, feisty, and strong.

"Daryl" you snapped him out of his head, he blinks a few times then clears his throat. "Sorry, was jus thinkin."

"About?"

"Bout our baby we'll have soon."

You smiled looking down at baby Judith, "you hear that, you're gonna have a best friend."

Daryl laughs a little hearing the sound of boots, and crutches come his way.

"I can't find Merle or Michonne."

"What"

"Stay here, I'm gonna go look for him."

Before you could protest Daryl and Rick already left, you look at Hershal, "what happened?"

"Rick changed his mind, said that you were right and that he couldn't do it."

"I'm glad he did, but I'm hoping they all come back."

"Me too, me too."
