In King's Landing, Lord Tywin Lannister meets with Lady Olenna Tyrell to discuss having Ser Loras marry his daughter, Cersei.

"Impossible." Says the queen of thorns.

Tywin pours some wine and asks why.

"My grandson is the pride of Highgarden. The most desirable bachelor in all seven kingdoms. Your daughter..." Tywin cuts her by saying Cersei's obvious attributes,

"Is rich, the most beautiful woman in all seven kingdoms and the mother of the king."

The old lion hands a glass to lady Olenna, who takes it and says,

"Old."

"Old?" The man questions.

"Old. I'm something of an expert on the subject. Her change will be upon her before long. I'll spare you the details of what will happen then. You men may have a stomach for bloodshed and slaughter, but this is another matter entirely." She assues him.

They continue to trade barbs about Cersei's capability to have more children, and accusations of incest with Jaime, as well as Loras's well-known homosexuality.

Tywin is adamant that Cersei, should marry Loras, the Kingdom's most handsome and desired bachelor, but Olenna blatantly refuses to consent, hinting that Joffrey is the result of incest.

Tywin stands, offended about the subject of Cersei and Jaime. He pours himself more wine.

"Lie or not, you must admit many people find it quite convincing. Convincing enough to put swords in their hands and send them off to kill Lannisters and Tyrells thanks to our new affiliation." The Tyrell matriarch tells the lion of the rock.

"Now, if the rumors about my children were true, then Joffrey is no king at all and House Tyrell is throwing its prized flower into the dirt."

But Olenna says she will not risk "throwing another flower into the dirt" if Cersei cannot bear heirs for the Tyrells. "And if Cersei is too old to give Loras children, we're throwing another prized flower into the dirt. It is a chance we simply cannot take."

Realizing her unchanged position on the matter, Tywin threatens to make Loras a knight of the Kingsguard, which would force Loras to give up his right to marriage and to inherit Highgarden. Olenna relents, and consents to the marriage of Loras and Cersei.

Tyrion and Cersei Lannister watch Sansa and Loras from afar.

"I don't suppose there's anything we can do about this." Tyrion wonder aloud.

"We can have them both killed." His sister ponders.

"It's hard to say which of the four of us is getting the worst of this arrangement. Probably Sansa. Though Loras will certainly come to know a deep and singular misery."

"Father doesn't discriminate. We're all being shipped off to hell together." She tells him as they move inside and Cersei sits.

"On a boat you built." Tyrion adds.

"The Tyrells were plotting to undermine our family. I did what I did to protect our family." She says trying to defend her actions.

"I'm your family. A member of your family who has actively contributed to that family's survival. Whether or not you or Father or anyone else wants to admit it." Tyrion complains, as Cersei defends herself, "I do admit it. If it weren't for your trick with the wildfire, Stannis would have sacked the city before Father got here. Our heads would still be rotting on the city gate."

He then finally accuses his sister of trying to have him killed during the battle of the blackwater. Cersei, tired of fighting him, remains quiet while he deduces that only two people can command the Kingsguard. Tyrion realizes that while Cersei certainly has the authority to command a Kingsguard, she isn't stupid enough to command Ser Mandon Moore to kill him in public. Tyrion realizes that it was in fact Joffrey.
