Later in the throne room of Meereen the Goatherd stands before Rhaenya and Daenerys, who are seated in stone thrones, Arthur, Jorah, Olyos and Missandei stand by them while Grey Worm stands guard.
Missandei introduces the queen and the khaleesi by their titles, you stand in the presence of Rhaenya Dragonheart of House Targaryen First of her name, Queen of the Andals, the Rhoynar, and the First Men, Lady of the Seven Kingdoms, Protector of the Realm protector of the people, mother of dragons. And Daenerys Stormborn of the House Targaryen, the First of Her Name, Breaker of Chains, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea and Mother of Dragons."
"Don't be afraid, my friend, tell us how we may help you." Rhaenya assures the man who stands motionless, head bowed.
"The Queen says you may approach and speak." Missandei informs the goatherd.
The man steps forward and ascends the stairs and starts speaking in Valyrian.
"He is a goatherd. He says he prayed for your victory against the slave masters." The translator informs them.
"We thank him for his prayers." Daenerys tells her and Missandei is quick to translate.
The man places his bundle on the ground and reveals the charred of his goat and explains what happened.
"It was your dragon, he says. The great one came this morning for his flock." She repeats in the common tongue as the goatherd also continues to talk.
"He hopes he has not offended Your Grace, but now he has nothing."
"Tell this man we are sorry for his hardship. We cannot bring back his goats, but we will see he is paid their value three times over."
The man listens to Missandei translate Rhaenya's words and excitedly gathers his bundle bows to the two monarchs and exits.
"Send the next one in." Rhaenya orders.
Hizdahr Zo Loraq and his Manservant enters.
"The noble Hizdahr zo Loraq begs an audience with the Queen." Informs the servant.
Rhaenya does not seem to like the fact that the servant is doing the talking, so she tells him "The noble Hizdahr zo Loraq can speak to me himself."
The manservant retreats and Hizdahr comes forward and bows.
"Queen Rhaenya and great Khaleesi Daenerys. Tales of your beauty were not exaggerated."
"I thank you." Daenerys tells him, but her niece just looks at him.
"Mine is one of the oldest and proudest families in Meereen."
"Then it is our honor to receive you." Daenerys continues.
"My father, one of Meereen's most respected and beloved citizens, oversaw the restoration and maintenance of its greatest landmarks. This pyramid included." The noble Hizdahr continues.
"For that, he has our gratitude. We should be honored to meet him."
"You have, khaleesi. The queen crucified him. I pray you'll never live to see a member of your family treated so cruelly." He tells her.
"Your father crucified innocent children." Rhaenya intervenes.
"My father spoke out against crucifying those children. He decried it as a criminal act, but was overruled. Is it justice to answer one crime with another?" He explains.
