Rhaenya did not know why she was nervous, this was her second wedding, and she knew that neither she nor Robb were in love with one another, they were allies, but not yet companions.
She had been much better acquaintanced with Hizdahr Zo Loraq, and yet she felt more confortable with Robb. This Stark man had managed to make her blush, something nobody had been able to do since the death of her dear Gannicus.
The wedding was going to be a small affair a sthey were in the middle of war. Rhaenya looked herself in the mirror. She was wearing one of her aunt's white dresses from their time in Meereen, as there had been no time to have a proper wedding dress made.
"You look beautiful, your grace." Missandei spoke as she smoothed the dress. Inside the queen's chambers were Rhaenya herself, Missandei and Daenerys. The khaleesi wore a black and red dress with the Targaryen sigil on the chest part.
"Thank you. Although i must admit i am slightly nervous." The older Targaryen woman told her aunt and translator.
Daenerys walked to Rhaenya and clasped the necklace around her niece's neck. "I was nervous on my wedding day. Then again people died during the reception. Just remember, you are marrying a good man. And if he makes you unhappy in any way, you can just feed him to the dragons." Dany said with a teasing smile. Causing the bride to laugh. Daenerys was telling the truth, after her niece had announced the mariage, the khaleesi took it upon herself to make sure that Robb Stark would not harm Rhaenya or cause her any pain.
"I believe its time for us to head to the sept your grace." Missandei spoke, before she and Dany walked out the room, leaving the bride alone.
Rhaenya looked outside the window of her chambers. The sky was covered with clouds, announimg the rains that were to come and the wind would surely pick up due to the eminent arrival of winter. Ironic, the Dragonheart thought as she was marrying a man whose House's words were "winter is coming.".
There was a soft knock on the door, and after Rhaenya's answer allowing the person on the other side to enter, her beloved uncle Oberyn stepped inside. He would be the one to walk with her to the sept.
"I am sorry that these are the circunstances which to you must marry. But at least it is to a Stark." The dornish prince stated placing his hand on his niece's cheek.
The queen smiled as she leaned into her uncle's touch. "Everyone keeps telling me that. He must really be a good man. As for the circunstances i always knew they would be political."
"You look beautiful. Your mother would cry if she were here. Her little sun getting married." The red viper said with a sad laugh.
The two started their walk towards the sept. The said place was different from the sept of kingslanding, as the one at Dragonstone contains statues representing the seven aspects of the Seven gods, carved from the masts of the ships that had carried the first Targaryens from Valyria, but have frequently been repainted since then. The statue of the Crone had pearl eyes, the Father a gilded beard, and the Stranger looks more animal than human.
--------------------------------------------------------------
Inside the sept the various members of the court awaited for the bride. Robb stood at the altar next to the septon. He felt almost as excited as Rickon appeared to be, as his young brother seemed over the moon with the fact that the union was about to take place, and Rhaenya and Daenerys would be officially part of his family. The woman he was about to marry was a great one from what he had seen. She was beautiful, could not deny that he lusted for her and who knew, maybe with time, love would blossom between them.
