the Sanctuary

POV Azura

4 days since the zombie horde, and we reached the sanctuary within 2 days, Charlie and Patrick were both still asleep. the defender of truths base was built into a mountain, a complex of tunnels and caverns running through and under it to create this fortress. Lucas leads his people on a mission and returns with more and more refugees. I was checking on Patrick. Although Charlie and the doctors here had reassured me he was fine, I was worried over a week and he hadn't woken up yet. 

I loved him, but I also couldn't help but imagine his reaction to my pregnancy, the one word, 'Oh' said like someone had shot him in the foot. I opened the door to where Patrick was being kept. a small room, the stone walls were ruff but the bed was a comfort at least. he looked peaceful sleeping. I took his hand, the skin was ruff from all fighting, but still warm. 

I sat there and started to fall asleep, When... "Azu?" my head shot up, Patrick was sat up looking about, slightly confused, "Where are we?" I didn't answer I just shot up from my chair and hugged him. before breaking the hug and slapping him, "Hay what was that for?" he asked. 

"Oh," I said. 

Patrick shook his head, "Azura I didn't mean it like that...look it was a shock, I...I'm happy beyond belief, I just wasn't expecting," He answered. 

he stood from the bed, "Come the others will want to see you," I said. 

we found Meeps, Rain, Stella, Daryll, Ember, Razer and Andrew in what Lucas called the common area, "Patrick you're awake," Rain said standing. 

"Hay some good news at least, plus Alex owes me a fiver now," Daryll said.

Patrick smiled "and it's good to see you all too, would someone like to explain where we are?" he asked. I had almost forgotten to tell him. 

"someplace called the sanctuary, because well Frostbourne has been taken by the controller," Ember said.

Patrick's face dropped, "Oh," were the only words to leave his mouth. 

"this that you're only reaction?" Meeps asked 

POV Charlie

I turned to the door and found Ciara walking in, She stopped in the doorway, "You're awake," she said. holding a pile of clothes my clothes, I realised that I had been changed from my normal clothes to a white shirt and trousers. 

I won't lie I was slightly confused to see Ciara, she was nowhere to be seen before Herobrine, and now she's here, in fact, where are we? and how am I alive? I lost enough blood to kill me, "Ciara? were are we? How am I alive? and this the afterlife?" I asked. 

"Yes it's me, second we're in the Sanctuary, third, you should ask Ember or Rain they were both there,  forth, No, this isn't the afterlife," she answered, putting the clothes down, she smiled, "You had us all worried Charlie," 

"Not going to lie, I thought I had died, the amount of blood, the numbing pain, then....then Crystal," I said. 

Ciara went to say something, when someone dressed like a doctor mixed with one of the defenders of the truth, "Oh would you look at that, you're awake, and just in time for your cast to be removed," he said. 

as the unknown doctor removed the cast Ciara caught me up on the basics, once done I asked for a moment alone to change into my clothes, and think for a moment, about everything, about Crystal, is she really out there somewhere, or was I making things up in my head.

Once dressed I walked out to met Ciara, "So, Where are the others?" I asked. 

Ciara shrugged, "Can't speak for everyone but I'm sure a few of them are in the common area," she said, she pulled out a bottle of wine, because of course she had a bottle of wine, it's Ciara she always has wine, "I'll take you there now," she said.
